Dell3110cn printer that is hung up on an offending command

Dear bloggers,

                  I have just acquired a Dell3110cn colour laser printer that supposedly is completely in order, but I can´t get it to print. Whenever I try to print anything this is the error message that prints out:

ERROR : undefined

OFFENDING COMMAND : @PPJL

As I´m by no means a computer expert it would be great if someone could explain what I should do in lay terms.
