Okay, so I'm a really new user with the pineapple and I apologize if this is just user error, but I can't seem to figure it out. Yesterday was the first day for me to work with the pineapple and I followed the Tethering instructions for Windows and everything was running fine. Before I went to bed I unplugged everything and plugged them back in today. Following the same instructions to reconnect everything and now it does not work. Basically, when i setup sharing it allows everything but then changes my wifi connection to unknown connection and I can not access google.com or 172.16.42.1/pineapple. The only way I can access the pineapple now is by disconnecting via PoE and turning off sharing and connecting to the pineapple via it's wifi connection. I had installed some modules yesterday to external flash drive. I have tried resetting the pineapple with the reset button on the bottom and also with the factory reset button within the pineapples settings. Any feed back is greatly appreciated and again, I am new to all of this.

I had this issue also go in to the Nic Your pineapple is plugged into and manually set the ip address again after you set up sharing.

When you set up sharing the computer will set the nic to pineapple is plug into to a 192.168. . address set it back to 172.16.42.42
