Ppc And Fedora 12 On Ps3

So i was trying to put my dusty PS3 to use and installed Fedora 12 on it everything went as planned; it is fully installed how ever my problem is with the PPC version of Fedora 12 x64. This is what happened:

-> Installed PPC version of Fedora 12 (64 bit 32 bit does not work on PS3)

->Booted

-> Configured yum repositories to use CDROM

-> Installed 'X' /internet tools/Admin tools etc.

--> GNOME failed to install off cdrom

-> rebooted

--> first boot config opens i set-up user and password

--reboot

--> loads to either Black screen or blue wallpaper (if i force X)

--> NO gnome!!!

Any one know how to fix this? It also happens when i install it on my PPC mac :@

also please note this is why i hate and don;t use the PPC architecture
