LinuxOne
I'm going to do a science fair experiment for my school and my topic is: With Hashing, How Safe is Your Password Really? I'm planning on using the two most common hashes SHA1 & MD5, and I was wondering if there are any other hashes commonly used to secure things like passwords? There is one other thing, the plan is to crack the hashes using rainbow tables and brute force, so I was wondering if there were any good MD5 & SHA1 Crackers. I know Darren talked about BarsWF on episode 419, but I was wondering if there was something like that, that does SHA and MD. I have access to a MacBook Early 2008, and a Athlon x64 with and NVidia Graphics card. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
