I tried the U3 removal tool, but it didn't recognize it as a U3 drive, which is why I came here in the first place. I had to use a production tool that IOSys uploaded in a different post.

I found your other post with a collection of production tools. I used the CBM2090 tool (according to CBM's website the 2090 is pin identical to the 1190), and it let me reformat the drive and now the extra CD drive is gone. I also think that with a little bit of fiddling it would let me put a custom autorun ISO on the drive so I could make a switchblade drive if I wanted to. Very cool! Thanks for your help.

Thanks for all of your help. I opened the drive up and the chip appears to be a CBM1190. Do you have any tools that will work with this chip? UPDATE: I tried both the CBM2080 tool and the FlashDiskManager program in the links that you sent me. Neither seems to recognize the drive. Also based on the manual with the CBM2080 program, you need to have a special programming board in order to use the program.

I recently received a USB drive at a career fair at school. However, everytime I plug the thing in, internet explorer opens up the companies career page. The drive appears to be using technology similar to U3 since there is an extra CD-ROM drive that appears on the computer and it contains all of the autorun stuff. Could someone please point me in the right direction to removing this from my drive?
