  1. I have a WRT54G v2 and am thinking about upgrading to either DD-wrt, open-wrt, or tomato....but i can't decide which one to go for?!

    Does anyone have any preferncs / advice on which one has the best features etc.....

    I have done a hell of a lot of reading on all different firmwares and need you guys to steer me away from the lesser good ones.

    cheers

    your username is buzzinH as in, buzzin hennesey? I was just wondering...

    sorry if this is too personal of a question? :?

    Sorry i don't know what that means??? It is derived from BuzzinHornets which was used by Jordan F1 team years back in countries where they could not use tobaco advertising (their sponsor was Benson & Hedges)

    I seeeee, well I just assumed buzzin hennesey like, you were buzzing > off of hennesey

    like the liquor but w/e thank you for showing how wrong I was? not that this even matters lol

  3. the bigger the tables, the more likely hood of the tables being successful on cracking a harder password, imaging the tables as a list of passwords, the bigger the list, the greater chance of the one ur looking for being in it.

    umm duh. so yeah thats pretty much the best explanation that can be

    given on the different sizes, the larger the char set = the larger the tables =

    the more GBs it will take = the greater chances of you cracking the password

    since its not ACTUALLY "cracking" the password pursai, its just looking up the

    hashs' cooresponding plain-text version and then displaying it to you, so to help

    you better understand a good synonym for rainbow table would be reference table

    because thats all it really is, a table to refer what all the hashes equal.

    I hope this clears up your understanding of the differences and the sizes, just post

    if you have anymore questions.

  4. *Agrees with Vako*

    I dont think if I backtracked ALL the porn that I've ever

    watched in my entire life that it would even amount to

    10GB but hey, if you've accumalted a petabyte worth of

    porn viewing in your life... good job?

  5. I honestly dont think that computers will evolve so much that we

    will ever need more than a petabyte in HD space (talking about

    personal computers, of course) ridiculous databases might?

    yeah and no one will ever need more then 640k of memory

    Dont mock me. I know Bill Gates once made that foolish comment,

    but atleast not between now and the time I die... I just really dont

    see anyone needing that much space, what file could actually be that

    large? maybe one day there will be like giant media files that are 3D

    holograms, and average file size is like 50GB each, but until then...

    I just dont see it

    According to Gates he didn't say that... I don't have a source to link you to so I won't press that point...

    Nevertheless though, with uncompressed HD video we could well need very large HDDs. I don't see it being impossible to use up a petabyte or more.

    oh no... impossible is definitlely not the state of HD growth that I

    was trying to convey, I am simply saying that I do not predict ever

    seeing a personal HD the size of a petabyte before I die.

    EDIT:

    You only hit the size barrier when you figure out the absolute minimum number of molecules you need to reliably (as in a hundred years or so) maintain a magnetic field. At which point you need a physically bigger space.

    Or, you could develop a drive that can store 2 bits of data in the same space a regular drive would store one. There by doubling the capacity.

    or perhaps create a drive that each sector of the disk can have 3 states (rather than two) and figure out a way to store 1.5 bits in every sector.

    I'm not arguing the possibility of developing a drive this size

    I'm arguing practical usage of a drive this size.

  8. is this compatible with XP? since I dont intend on ever upgrading to vista

    Its a feature built in to Windows Vista, there may be an Equivilent for XP, try googling it.

    Kind of off topic, but your signature made me wonder, what is it

    called when you have 1000TB?

  9. I see, how exactly did you come up with that url?

    http://www.msplinks.com/MDFhaW06Z29pbT9zY3JlZW5uYW1lPXhpRmlua3gmbWVzc2FnZT1IaS4rQXJlK3lvdSt0aGVyZQ==" target="aim"

    Ancient chinese secret.

    Actually, if you take the part after http://www.msplinks.com/ and convert it to plain text from Base64, you get the link to the aim command. I just converted it to Base64 the way MySpace does all links so it wouldnt append it to www.myspace.com when clicked on normally.

    I see, tell me you didn't do this manually though? I'd like to know how to convert plain-text > base64 & vise versa

  10. well, I kan do you one better... set an alternative keyboard set other than qwerty

    and set it to a keyboard shortcut for example when you press ctrl+alt+shift+a

    the keyboard will change to another char set and when anyone tries to use your

    keyboard they wont be able to type anything because what they push doesnt

    get typed, its a classic pc prank =]

    check control panel for these settings [assuming that your using win xp]

    actually disregard what i just said because I didnt actually read what you posted

    until after my post, I wrote that entirely from the topic lol that wont help you to

    have an unclosable vid run lol

  11. ok, this is interesting... I noticed that the code I put on myspace was this:

    <embed src='http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9341/aimbuttonrc7.swf' quality='high' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='120' height='60'></embed>

    and after I uploaded that, i guess myspace automatically changed it to this:

    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" height="60" width="120" data="http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9341/aimbuttonrc7.swf">
      <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" />
      <param name="allowNetworking" value="internal" />
      <param name="movie" value="http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9341/aimbuttonrc7.swf" />
      <param name="quality" value="high" />
    </object>

    and I noticed that the value of the script access condition is set to never, I'm unsure of the proper

    santax to allow it, also the "allownetworking" value is set to internal, is this a problem aswell? I remember

    seeing something about that in the error.

    looks like myspace beat me again, theres gotta be a way to get flash files to get urls because

    theres flash advertizements on myspace that when clicked give you advertized websites

  12. right, well... I set it to network before I uploaded it to the site

    and its STILL set to network, so I'm unsure what the problem

    now might be and also... is it possible to have transparency in

    flash files? because I noticed that the image I imported was gif

    and it had some transparent parts in the background but once

    in flash it turned white

  13. Sorry, I do not run a free hosting site...

    hmm... its just one flash file? what if I pay you .99 USD or actually 1.00

    because I dont like odd numbers also I uploaded it on imageshack put it on myspace

    and well, I got this when clicking on it...

    SecurityError: Error #2146: Security sandbox violation: http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9341/aimbuttonrc7.swf cannot call navigateToURL because the HTML/container parameter allowNetworking has the value internal.
        at global/flash.net::navigateToURL()
        at aimbutton_fla::MainTimeline/buttonClickHandler()

  14. oh yeah and it made another file I forgot to post

    AC_RunActiveContent.js

    I'm assuming its a javascript file, anyways... I dont need to

    upload that too, do I? just the swf file? and photobucket allows swf uploads

    but only on pro accounts, and mine is free so yeah... I'll try imageshack next?

    if all else fails, would you mind uploading the file to your site for me?

  15. *cough*IE sucks*cough*

    *cough*cough* - Firefox licks my Nuts - *cough*cough*

    Opera does 99% of what FireFox does by default WITHOUT the need for additional plugins, like NoScript.

    And some sites only render in IE, so even if using the IE tab addon for FireFox is kind of redundant.

    Any browser can be compromised and they all have their weaknesses, but IE is just as stable as any of the others if you know what your doing. Securing your PC and safe surfing habits are your best bet, with any browser for that matter, but if someone has a will, they will find a way to get to you, no matter what browser your using.

    Now takign offesne from you aswell, that you assumed I'm a mozilla user, which I am but still...

    i use opera problly more often than firefox myself, but using ie is almost never an option for me

    maybe its just my browsers configuration that I dont feel like tampering with, but besides the

    compromising secruity issues, pages load in FF alot faster than ie

  16. Upload Error

    The file "aim button.swf" is a SWF: SWF file uploading is no longer available on free accounts. SWF files can be uploaded to PRO accounts only.

    can anyone vouch for a decent 'free' flash uploading site?

  17. oh, thats cool... also, I followed a tutorial with this and I umm.. plublished it?

    and when I did that, I made like 3different files

    aim button.fla

    aim button.html

    aim button.swf

    do I need to upload like all of these?

    or save in a different format or what?

    I'm really lost with what to do with these files

  18. mkay that was...

    <BR>
    <embed src="aim.swf" flashvars="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="85" height="85"></embed>
    <BR>

    correct? and should I modify the width/height attributes to corespond to

    the height & width of my flash file?
