  1. On a side note, it'd be cool to have Kevin Rose as a guest host. I remember watching a few episodes of the broken back in the day. Really got me hooked on security when I was in college.

I have to say... Kevin in The Broken and now a days is like two different persons =( sadly... The Broken was cool show.

  2. Interesting Whig. Definitely looks like an iPad competitor. Runs flash, has camera and USB port. It's $500, same as the iPad, but the real question: does it run linux? Chrome maybe?

    Is the battery replacable?

However, the battery life isn't as good as the iPad. Hackability will make or break this product.

Can it be less hackable than iPad?

iPod Touch/iPhone has been here years but I haven't seen any really interesting hacks with those two.

  3. I'm just waiting for the one person to come on here 6 months later, drag up this *future* buried thread, say we all suck because were Apple haters, and then rant on about how it looks so pretty and his rich ass parents bought it for him..

:-) I'm not apple hater (I use touch, macbookpro, airport extreme and so on...) but I just can't find any use for iPad. Or at least not yet. Some peoples say that it has great design... well... for me it looks like typical digital photo frame.

Other peoples say that it's good for reading ebooks... well... IMHO kindle and that sony device are much better (better battery life and so on) or maybe I'm just only one who doesn't need cute colours and icons to my books?

For me it's just over size ipod touch right now. But I'm 101% sure that apple fan boys will buy that and tell how revolution that is :-D

  4. Any idea how to "hack" port-security thing on procurve switch?

It will disable port and send alert if you connect device with new unknown mac-address to port.

Only way what comes to my mind is change your device mac-address to same as that device which is on that port already and then it should not disable that port... haven't tested it yet but...

More about port-security example here: http://www.hiddenone.net/hp-procurve/local-port-security/

  5. Sounds like what you mean is you can't resolve domain names, set your DNS server in /etc/resolve.conf to either you home or some other DNS server, see if that works.

Problem was on DNS but not on resolve.conf.

My Fon box dhcp server gave wrong DNS server to clients. It gave 192.168.0.250 and for some reason 255.255.255.0

When I changed those on /etc/config/dhcp things started to work... Now I just need to check if Jasager part works =)

  6. You can't force an IP address from a DHCP server. If you want .250 then just set a static IP

Oh ok... then I have understood this pic wrong:

    http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/oo88/ji...1webif_dhcp.png

    http://wiki.hak5.org/wiki/Internet_Connect...mit_Der_Jasager <- Whole page

If you can ping 8.8.8.8 then you can get to the internet

    =) I mean WWW

Sounds like what you mean is you can't resolve domain names, set your DNS server in /etc/resolve.conf to either you home or some other DNS server, see if that works.

That sounds right... Will try that when I get home.

  7. Now everything else seems to work pretty ok but:

    - Even that I have set my Fon for DHCP and 192.168.0.250 it still doesn't use .250 IP.

    - If I have Fon on my homenetwork where I have DHCP server it get's IP from that (normally .206)

    - If there is no DHCP server on that network it doesn't get IP anywhere (not even .250)

    - I can't get to internet via that Fon box. I can ping 8.8.8.8 but not example www.google.com (from Fon and from "victim"

    - I can connect to my Fon box from that computer which shares my internet connection

    - I can get internet from that computer which shares my connection

    - I can connect to my Fon boxfrom my "victic" computer (Nokia n900 on this test)

Any ideas how to solve these things?

  8. A smartphone will do the job if you have one, there are several GPS capable wardriving apps for Windows Mobile, for example, and I'm sure there are similar apps for other mobile platforms too. A build in GPS is nice, but a seperate GPS will work too.

Talking about GPS and smartphones... there is software called expgps... with that you can use your phone's GPS as external GPS for your computer.

  9. As i was searching the forums not to many people us GPS for wardriving. I was looking at getting a GPS and was wondering for the people that have used them do you prefere a handhelp GPS or a simple usb magnetic one to stick on the roof of your vehical? any input welcome thanks.

Earlier I used Garmin eTrex Camo with serialcable->usb converter but now a days when I wardrive (or mostly warwalk) I used Nokia LD-3W Bluetooth GPS. You don't need to stick that on the roof of your vehical cos it works so well even inside your vehical =)

    http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/acce...ps-module-ld-3w

Asus EEEPC inside my jacket... Nokia LD-3W in my pocket... Kismet scanning wifi and festival talking what it founds to my ear via earphones... that's my warwalk setup =)

  10. I really liked the way the n900s OS looks like and think it would make an awesome mobile device.

It just doesn't look awesome it also is =) I use ipod Touch, Nokia E90 and Nokia N900 daily and N900 has make me use my phone so differently that how I used older phones. It's so weird feeling when phone OS is so open that you can example change which colour led blinks when you have got sms, missed call and so on...

I already have macchanger and aircrack-ng on my N900... still waiting Kismet =)

  11. Btw... You can use Nokia N900 screen ok without stylus. Stylus is good to have but you can use pretty much everything on N900 even just with your finger.

I have had N900 now a month or two and I couldn't think about using example iPhone instead of N900 =)

Oh and btw... Ovi Store opened it's doors (ovi mean door in Finnish) yesterday.
