  1. Hello, I am trying to create a simple batch program to create a Playlist here is what I have so far

    @echo off
    dir *.mp3 *.wma *.wmv *.avi /b >"0playlist.m3u"
    ren "0playlist.m3u" "00 %cd%.m3u"

My end goal is to have the playlist be the same name as folder that it is in, so for example, if I put the batch file in a folder named "Rammstein - Mutter" than the playlist that gets created would be "Rammstein - Mutter.m3u"

the 00 in the output name are there only to have the playlist at the top when sorted by name.

what I need is to replace %cd% with something that will just give me just the folder name as a veritable output, as %cd% gives me the full path. (ex. "c:\users\public\music\Rammstein - Mutter\")

creating the playlist works exactly the way I want it to it is only a problem with the ren (rename) part of it.

Thanks for any help that you can give.

And yes I have google'd it but the only thing I was able to come up with was %~dp1 which basically does the same thing.

now enough of the random shti, Hi I'm Chris, and I have been a fan of Hak5 since season 1

  4. DX10 was designed from the ground up for Vista, it will never show up on xp, DirectX9 will be as high as it goes in the case of xp. Sorry to be the server of bad news.

Vista is very nice, when it does everything you want it to. however if you have an application that you absolutely need that wont run on vista that XP is for you. Just wait for the next time you want to get a computer to get vista.

I have a Vista Laptop, and an XP Desktop. Both are duel core AMDs with 2gigs ram.

  5. Once you have had a virus, trojan, spyware problem, you have been compromised, in order to know that you have no more sh*t on your pc, you must reinstall the os, because often they download other crap onto your pc also there is no way to know that you have got it all. this is what Steve Gibson (Security Now) would say, sorry for the bad new on the trojans. just at least think about what i said.

  6. I don't know what the fascination is about hacking a school computer, i myself did a miner hack where I changed the main page contents and the title of the page. The computers used a program as the dashboard, (this was years ago, the text that was displayed on the screen was just pulled from a text file, easiest hack i ever did. These computers were so old, they were Windows 2.0

  7. Hacking is in literal terms ... to use something for what it was not designed to do.

Hacking into computers, networks is about the joy of the hunt, not about deleting personal files.

To pwn a box you don't need to delete files, just pop up a message, change something.

For what your post should have been called is "How do I become a f*cking prick and delete a """Friends"""  personal files."

This is a community of people who want to do things that designers didn't intend to do. This isn't a Virus Creating community.

    Find somewhere else.

  8. You will need NirCMD.

Create 2 Files (3 if you want an easy way to cancel this in the future)

The location for these files is

    on Vista C:Users%CurrentUser%

    on XP C:Documents and settings%CurrentUser%

        First File

        Save it as  SleepOption1hr.bat

    Title Sleep Option 1 Hour

nircmd.exe win hide title "Sleep Option 1 Hour"

nircmd.exe qbox "Do you want to set the sleep timer for 1 hour ?" "Turn Sleep Timer On ?" "sleep1hr.bat"

    exit

      Second File

      Save it as    Sleep1hr.bat

Title Sleep Set to 1 Hour

nircmd.exe win min title "Sleep Set to 1 Hour"

    nircmd.exe cmdwait 3600000 standby

In order to cancel this end the process NirCMD.exe from the task manager OR create another batch file

      Save it as SleepTimerCancel.bat

    taskkill /IM nircmd.exe /F

I have tested this on XP and Vista
