ok i downloaded a linux distro , 669MB in .iso format, but i dont have a cd so i wanna burn on DVD. nero only accepts DVD so is it ok if i extract the .iso contents and burn them on a dvd in data format?
and is it ok to burn multiple .iso on i dvd? like 2 or 3 distro cds on 1 single dvd? is that possible?

well, i've successfilly installed suse10.2, got vlc, download cool themes and icons.. but i have 1 problem... i am runnning suse10.2 on my laptop, Acer Aspire 5580.. and when i plug in my headphone, i get the sound on my headphone, but the sound form the speakers dont mute. I played around with ALSAMix alittle and i see PCM and Headphone's volume controls.. so i tried to lower my PCM and higher my headphone vol. but instead, nowthing happeded... my master volume is only reacting to PCM and not Headphone even while my headphone is still plugged in. i get both the sound comming frm my headphone and pc speakers.. my headphnoe volume on AlsaMix is now working at all, my audio device as set to autodetect btw... must i like install any restricted drivers or anything like that?

oh and sometimes when i reformat my pc and install windows i sometimes get messages like certain dll files cant get coppied from the disc.. why is that?
i get them while "Setup is Copying System Files" or something like that.. ...

well thanks guys... yup my xp disc gots some dull spots on them... now windows works fine.. left 10GB unpartitioned for my ubuntu studio.. :D Thanks.

well.. actually.. tahts what i tried to do before my laptop screwed up.. first i had mandriva free spring edition on my laptop alongside windows...
but i didnt like mandriva so i installed ubuntu studio over it... and thats when my laptop started to screw up.. at first installing was ok.. but when i restarted my pc, i got that missing file error msg.. :(
well.. thanks for your help anyway... i bite te bullet and now i;m reformatting my whole laptop... there isnt much important stuff besides porno and AutoCAD in there so i'll just have to install them back again.. oh and along with Ubuntu studio too.. :D Thanks for that memory recover tool thingie..

Help... i got this message on my laptop.. i dont wanna reformat it so i came here..
"Windows could not load. /windowsroot /hal.dll missing
re-installing this might solve the problem"
well something like that.. what do i do? i load my xp cd and i ran chkdsk /r but didnt find anythink wrong.. i ran "Fixboot" also... but nothing changed..
what do i type on the recovery command line to reinstall that .dll file? coz i'm really a noob at this... :(

ok this is what i got :

Please re-install a copy of the above file.

Why don't you download using the HTTP links?
yeah, or use a program that lets you resume a broken download
just to add on this, somethink like Getright.
well, thats what i did, the http links.. flashget is the same as getright but better coz its free and it also has a resume support..
i did try to resume but after afew percent.. it gets slower and eventually stops.. firefox also has a download manager but thats terrible coz it only allows 1 connection :( thats the problem.. its too slow on one connection.. any ideas?

Help! i cant download any episode.. :( .. i am using flashget and at around 5 - 8 % it suddenly stops..

:( i dont wanna download the one from youtube coz the quality is just terrible and the one from stage6 is blocked coz my iSP is and asshole.. they somehow blocked www.stage6.divx.com saying its a restricted site :(
plz help me ... look at the stupid log file and tell me whats wrong.. (oh and i download with 2 split parts coz using 1 is just too slow for me)

well i installed openVPN normally.. then i went to start/progamms/openvpn/add a new TAP win32 virtual ethernet adapter and got a bunch of batch files on my screen.. but this is what i got :

i wanna setup a vpn for my laptop that i'll be getting soon so i tried OpenVPN on my PC.. but i cant get it to work.. how do i set one up? (i use a proxy to connect to the net)

ok i installed that open vpn thingie but i cant get it to work... :( my VPN just couldnt get connected... how do i configure this thing? its kinda complicated for me :( i need to use a proxy btw..

i'm getting a new laptop for school use and i am going to connect to school's wireless lan. . i remmember watching one of hak. 5's episode with harrison saying that using schools internet is not really safe so it isn't reccomended to use it. . how do i encrypt my connection? i step by step guide would be nice coz i'm not good at this kind of stuff. .
