ok thanks, so if u were to take an image of my drive, the normal reformat would be replaced with restoring the image right? -i'll check out nlite too.. test it on a virtual machine first..

i need a workaround for installing the painful drivers.. situation : everytime i reformat and install windows, i need to install my drivers and stuff all over again, it takes a really LONG time to install them plus my daily applications and games.. and microsoft security patches... question : is it possible to clone my current HD state right after i installed my dirvers? and restore it to that exact same state when i plan to format windows again? will it work? will it conflict with the "activate your version of windows" thingie?

i was playing around with hak5radio .. read the wiki but wasnt too sure if i got it right.. i followed the wiki and grabbed a copy of winamp and that plugin thingie.. i went to the encodes and i found wma, ogg and mp3 pro.. there wasnt the normal mp3 format.. but i clicked the mp3 pro anyway.. i dragged and drop random mp3 file : i clicked play.. the song was playing on winamp but i keep getting this msg : while it was playing, i tried to logon to hak radio on another computer but the song didnt start from the beginning.. it started like around 30% of the song.. why is that? it also took a very long time to buffer.. is it my bad connection? other than that.. i was kinda cool to play around with the radio! :D ...

hmm ok, i'll google that.. wait.. i had some previous problems with port forarding .. bare with me for a moment coz i'm hopeless with this kinda stuff... how the HELL do u port foward??? i checked out portfowarding from google, i got some website which had instructions for my ADSL2 but i dont know what to put in this : i have NO idea what to put in those boxes --port range, trigger port.. :zombie: :zombie: :-? This is my internet settings : pleasee...... i feel sooo noobified.... :?: :?: :?: :oops --- ok i checked out my ADSL2's manual but it didnt say anything about portfowarding.. i even asked my isp but they said "We'er very sorry to inform you that we cannot help you with that problem."....

ok i recently downloaded a free copy of Cerberus FTP Server so i can transfer/share files between my laptop and my desktop PC, it works fine, the setup was straightfoward, my ftp address is my internal ip with the ftp:// in the front of it. i could access the files smoothly, create users, restricts connections and stuff.. but when i wanna share my ftp address with my friend, he couldnt connect to me.. he keeps getting "unable to connect", why is that? i really dont know much about stuff like this, could someone enlighten me?

i just recovered from an infection, my laptop got a cold so i fed em some meds form : AVG Anti-Spyware, Ad-Aware, Spyware Sweeper Trial, CWShredder, ClamWin Free Antivirus in safe mode. when i got infected the cold removed my shutdown/reboot and run buttons from start and from taskman. it also disabled my regedit. but i managed to fix those already.. but now everytime i boot up windows, i get this error msg : what the heck is that? is it fatal or someting or can i just ignore it?

yes i do have ubuntu but i stick to dual booting coz of school.. certain softwares and teachin materials form sch isnt linux friendly.. so.. i stll need to secure my windows xp.. thanks for the quick reply.. :D

whats a good FREE antivirus for personal use that has a GOOD detection rate, something simialr to Free-av.com.. coz the one i'm using, Free-av(Antivir) isnt that impressive like it used to... got a bunch of false alarms.. and the virus detection inst that good either.. what do u reccomend? coz my laptop is due for reformatting and i dont wanna use the same sucky free AV again..

what profile? how do i do that? i might just try reinstalling.. but i don wanna waste time reconfiguring my personla settings..

my isp uses a manual proxy confuration of : fol.singnet.com.sg at port 8080; i use firefox and i input them in the tools, options, network settings and click ok.. but everytime i exit firefox browser, my proxy settings dissapears and goes back to "direct connection".... what do i do to make my proxy settings permanant?
