I gave up on the pineapple as a router after tinkering with it and just picked up a cheap wifi router off of Amazon. Problem solved :)

I had considered looking at the documentation but I know that the pineapple is setup differently, that's why I asked here first :)

Hello, I just updated my pineapple to 2.2.0 and I heard you can use it as a router. As it currently stands in my home upstairs I have all of my office stuff: computer, server etc except wifi. I have wifi downstairs but it's extremely weak upstairs so I thought why not use the pineapple as a router for everything wireless upstairs. My home network uses 10.1.1.0/24 which are given out by my windows server. I set my pineapple to client mode and plugged it into my main lan, it has a static ip assigned 10.1.1.51. When I connect my tablet to the pineapple It gives me an ip within the 172 range and no connection to the internet. What do I need to change to get the pineapple to let the windows server give out the ips?

Since the latest firmware update my pineapple has been getting very hot. I have some adapters for each wifi antenna which puts a little bit of metal between the actual antenna and the pineapple, at the moment I'm sitting in a car with the windows open and the bits of metal are too hot to touch. This is a little worrying and it can't be much good for the device either. The pineapple is running on the pineapple juice pack that came with it. I was thinking of maybe attaching a low powered fan but this would probably shorten the battery life a substantial amount.

Hello, It's been a while since I've been messing with this stuff. I tried out your commands and got it to work over my lan, however when I try over the internet it fails. When you say forward is that local or remote with ssh? or do I have to do something else. Also would you be able to explain the nc commads? My understanding of netcat is a little limited. specifically 0<kali 1>kali moving in and out of the pipe I guess? Thanks Edit: I can't get this to work at all over the internet.

Just did a quick reflash and it is still rebooting. Could it be my client hardware / software that is causing the problem? Windows 7 laptop with chrome as the browser, testing twitter with ssl strip.

Hello, I updated to the newest firmware quite recently and every time I try and use ssl strip the pineapple crashes and reboots. Unfortunately no logs show anything unusual, so I can't determine the cause. The only thing I see is ssl strip output gibberish before the pineapple crashes (when a client accesses a website). Anyone else having this issue?

Hello, I've set myself a bit of a challenge with this one. I have a year old BT Home Hub (no labels) and I'm trying to retrieve the WIFI password. I've tried reaver however it receives no beacons from the victim and I can't sniff for packets because there is nothing associated with the hub. Can I actually break into this thing and get the password? (WPA-PSK) Sure, I can plug the Ethernet cable in, but where's the fun in that!
