  1. Does anyone know what the mini handheld PC Darren was using as a secure machine or something similar? It could really be handy for connecting to ssh really quickly to test something etc.

    Thanks

  2. I do have a Canon 650d which has a mic input, what microphone would you recommend to accompany it? i'll be walking around and talking about the different games that are being released (I can't wait because battlefield 4 is going to be there! :D)

  3. Does anybody know what microphones the Hak5 team use that clip on their shirts when they are filming episodes? I've been looking around and I can't find any that are decent and I need one for the EuroGamer Expo in September.

    Thanks

  4. I'm not going to lie, the Router Sky provide you with is one of the worst Routers I have ever used, Drop-outs all the time, No port forwarding!, Only DynDNS support, and lacking in many key features for what I use it for.

Can I use a different Router? If I buy one and unplug the Router that they give you and just plug that one in, will it work? and If so can anyone recommend a good router? I was thinking about building one but I would like a cheaper alternative, if there is a Router that I can use with Sky Broadband that has a GUI and I can SSH into or something (DD-WRT) and has all of he "bells and whistles" like USB ports would be great. i'm tired of drop outs and lack of features.

Just for reference the router that they gave me is a: Sagemcom F@ST2504n (6.14.6a4N_UNI)

    Thanks in Advance :D

  5. I've been looking into TOR, would I be able to use the TL3020 with it?

Ideally I would like something that I could take around with me and I can plug into my laptop (via usb?) and connect to the router's wifi point through my laptop's wifi but just like the wifi pineapple have the router ICS to the Acess point It I want it connected to, I don't really want to have to plug it in via ethernet to the access point physically. Think of it as a MITM box that spoofs my Ip when it is plugged in.

    With the Router:

ME (Laptop) -----USB/Wifi?-----> Router with TOR or alternative -----ICS to AP-----> AP (ANON. BROWSING)

    Without the Router:

ME (Laptop) -----Wifi-----> AP (NOT ANON. BROWSING)

@digip I looked at the APO site and if they are offering routers with what is described above then I'll wait and see what they have to offer.

  6. Here is my setup. ;)

Front of the Wireless AP (It was broke, so I gutted it and used the shell):

Back of the AP (Had to do some surgery to make it work):

    attachicon.gifBack.JPG

Back with the Pineapple Juice connected (For now. I will be switching to the Anker so I can power wlan1 also.):

    Inside of the AP:

I have plenty of room to store the power dongle for the Pineapple as well as the retractable ethernet cable. ;)

I like this :) Hiding in plain site... kinda.

  7. Is there such a thing as a mini router like the tplink 3020 that you can use to secure your connection?

    example:

ME (Laptop) ----> MINI ROUTER (vpn software?) -----> Access Point

And if there is such a thing can you spoof the ip of the vpn so its not the same as your Ip (which would kind of be pointless...)

If there is such a thing then please let me know (or it would be a great project)

  8. I've got an old Nokia Lumia 800 which I use solely to play music from and When the iPhone 5c is released my nokia will become a spare phone as I will use a 5c instead, is there any cool uses for it or should it collect dust?

I don't really want to take it apart physically because I feel that I will break it and It will be a waste.

  9. sorry if this has already been answered but when I open the sslstrip module I run the module and it says it is not running even though it is, and sometimes my pineapple will reboot. have any ideas why and a possible fix or is it just me?

  10. Well the number of questions is public knowledge, but I can't tell you what the questions were. Anyway, there are 60 questions that you have to do in an hour and a half.

Well that has put my mind at ease, i thought because it is out of 800 or something and you need 500 to pass (correct me if i'm wrong) I thought it was like 200-300 questions. thanks for your help and for the moment i'm just going to be studying for around 2-3 hours a day until I come across something that I really need to revise and i'll also look at more of the online questions.

  11. I wont be taking it anytime soon as I really need to learn more about the structure of linux commands but I can read and understand common commands but just applying them to certain situations is what i need to touch up on, i'm really looking forward to getting into this and one day get the certification - one more question roughly how many questions are there that you have to do? (i know that you cant give certain things away because it could be considered an unfair advantage)

    thanks for the info :)

  12. I'm seriously considering taking this exam (level 1 and then 2 later) how do you think it went? because the level 1 looks like something i could do first time maybe second but i'm a bit freaked out about the time constraints and the amount of questions, is it something that was... not "easily" done but not something you have to rush to even get done?

this could really help me if i do decide to take the exam. thanks.
