  1. I was also curious to know this since i didn't, Thank you for explaining.

the physical is radio0, radio1, where as the logical is wlan0,wlan1,mon0,ath0 etcetcetc.

you can create as many logical interfaces as you like, but to add physical interfaces you need to plug radios in, if that makes sense.

  2. When you say battery, what battery are you talking about? what mAh is it and is it 12V battery?

Because that sounds like a lack of power, but I could be wrong.

So I currently have the pineapple ready for deployment. The issue I'm having is that when I connect my Alfa AWUS036H and run the pineapple on battery, when I try to put wlan2 into monitor mode it times out and the pineapple reboots after about 90 seconds. Any ideas/suggestions?

  3. Nice! I'm going to try that out, thank you!

As of for the SSH I don't think that is possible, If your goal is to have multiple terminals open then "Tmux" a terminal multiplexer is what i would recommended.

On that note.. now with Bully installed. Installed BullyWPS script (Ver 2.1 but in spanish)

    BullyWPS Automation Script + mode

    http://xiaopan.co/forums/downloads/bullywps-automation-script-mode-bruteforce-checksum-8c-0c-a3.241/

A important noob Linux terminal question.

If I SSH to create a session and disconnect. Is there any way to reconnect continue that session?

  4. Like foxtrot side make sure you gave your computer the static IP address of 192.168.1.2 and please make sure the DIP Switches are right.

I have gone through steps 1-4 but can not get to step 5. The page will not load and I get the lights as I described above.

Have you set your computers IP?

  5. The infusion GET does exist for the MK5 check it out on the WiFi pineapple website https://wifipineapple.com/?infusions

    https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/29050-get/

The answer to your question is the second or third post...

Just so you know I don't believe GET has been updated for the Mark V. I saw it listed as available in the Mark V Pineapple Bar and tried installing it but it still had "install to USB" instead of SD Card. I started a thread about it in the Mark V infusion section but it got moved over to the Get thread in the Mark 4 infusions section. (link above) The user who updated it is Dustybyter and he stated he doesn't have a Mark V but he updated Get for the 3.0 firmware on the Mark 4 which was essentially the version 1.0 firmware for the Mark V. So while Get is compatible with the Mark V I don't believe it's actually optimized for it. Of course I haven't even bothered to try installing it since then so it could be updated already. I'll have to check.

  6. No worries. yeah we got to do this again.

Sorry about that abrupt ending... Apparently there is a time limit on those meetings because I didn't end it. I was about to but then it just shut down on me. But good meeting overall, had fun. We'll definitely have to do it again.

  7. I'm not sure your doing it right..

    1) Download the "stager.bin" and "upgrade.zip"

    2) With the WiFi pineapple off put the DIP switches in up, up, up, up, down (1 1 1 1 0)

    3) Connect the Ethernet to WiFi pineapple and computer, then assign the computer a static of 192.168.1.2

    4) Plug the WiFi pineapple to power wait a min then nav to 192.168.1.1 on the web browser.

    5) Give the recovery the "stager.bin" wait till its done then and say to turn off.

    6) Extract the "upgrade.bin" form the zip file. in to the SD card. (now make sure you reformat the SD to FAT (not FAT 32) and put the upgrade.bin and md5 file in the root of the SD.

    7) With the WiFi pineapple off Put the DIP Switches back to up, up, up, up, up (1 1 1 1 1) and put in the SD card.

    8) Power the WiFi pineapple with the AC adapter and wait till you see the Set up order of the LED's

    Green means power

Solid Blue mean it in the process of Flashing.

Amber will blink meaning the it's looking for the upgrade.bin file.

Then if you don't get the Red LED (Red Solid means didn't match MD5)

Then the Blue LED should start blinking meaning the WiFi Pineapple is Booting up.

First thing I did was download the "stager.bin and "upgrade.bin. Then I checked to ensure the MD5 matched, which they did. Then I changed the dip switches to 11110 while it was powered off. I then set my eth0 ip to 192.168.1.2 on my laptop. Turned on the pineapple ensuring that the ethernet was connected to the pineapple and my laptop. Then pretty much right after powering up, the pineapple shows solid green, solid amber, solid blue, and a blinking red.I waited 5 seconds, then 10 then, 5 minutes. The browser just kept timing out. I tried powering off the pineapple setting the dip switches to reset, powering back on. Then powering off and setting it back to 11110 and powering on. I was not able to connect via the browser to the pineapple, it times out. I tried via ssh and could could not connect either. I double checked ifconfig to ensure eth0 was set to the correct ip which it was. From my understanding in order to flash the "stager.bin" it needs to be uploaded via the browser unless I am reading it wrong.

Oh I left the microsd card in the pineapple while doing this. just wanted to put more info out here in case it helps.

    Thanks for the help!

  8. I had a smiler problem, it has something to do with the web browser. I can't get it to work in Windows 8.1 with Firefox

Though it work like no tomorrow on my Macbook Pro OSX 10.9 with Firefox. Also in Linux Mint 16 with Firefox.

I had this problem for a day or so, i got annoyed with it and left it, came back a few days forgetting it and it worked, possibly a cache problem?

I credit the fix for my problem to Foxtrot. I simply left it running for a full day. attempted to sign in and like magic its working. I have no explanation of how this fix worked but it did. Thank you Mr. Foxtrot

  9. I had the same problem. I was doing it with a Windows 8.1 with Firefox 26.0 and Java 7 update 45 and i cold not get it to work. Mind you i tried over 5 times.

So I decide to try it with my Macbook Pro with OSX 10.9 and Firefox 26 with java, I followed the same instructions giving in https://wifipineapple.com/?flashing and it work like a charm.

I don't know what in the world is wrong with my windows box, because I have all the requirements but it wouldn't work!!

If i was you I'd try it on another computer and make sure it has Chrome or Firefox and with java and give it a go.

Welcome to my world, pineapple MkV hell - I've tried manual firmware download with checksum and dip switch reflash to no avail.

I'm pretty much frustrated with it at this point - I'm just going to put pineapple aside until unbrick instructions are published.

  10. OK perfect i just dont want to damage the battery. Thank you and xrad for the help.

Charge it with the power button on.

When it is charged the green light on the charger will come on and the red will go off.

    It will take several hours.

Just as xrad stated charge with power on and it takes several hours. This has been discussed in other posts. Other the instructions that came with the battery also cover this.

  11. I not sure if the Pineapple Juice 1800mAh (Holiday Bundel) is charging. I know when I plug it in with the switch off the RED Led turn on and i have left it for more then 5 hours charging. On the AC Adapter there are two LED's a green and red one the red is on, but if i understand correctly the green one will turn on when it's done.

Any one got any clue if the green light is what turns on and if so how long does it take to charge??

    Thanks you in advance.

  12. I too am still learning Linux and I got to say that the way I have learned the command line is by messing around with Linux on a virtual machine. I would recommend Debian since you have to install it use the command line instead of a graphical user interface. I had no experience what so ever in Linux so I would just look it up on how to do it when I got stuck. I have also learn with a Raspberry Pi.

Anyways I will be getting my Pineapple in a few days so will be following this thread and I'm willing to help out.
