Just flashed 2.6.1, but problem still remains.
The resource tab doesn't show the extra mounts anymore, but they are indeed created when reinserting a flashdrive. Check /mnt/ after some reinsertions.

WatskeBart,
I agree, that is a huge pain. It is an issue already present in earlier firmwares.
I have been able to find and fix the issue, at least it looks that way.
It will be in the next bugfix release scheduled very soon.
Best Regards,
Sebkinne
Edit: Version 2.6.1 has been released
Superb B)

The wait will be worth it though!
It always is :D
Will the module installation process be changed as well?
-
but this thread suggests that https redirect doesn't work:
Sorry I overlooked the https part of your question ^_^

What about a extra navbar beneath the existing one, for pinned modules? :)
Maybe with a delicious yellow infusion bg color :P
Pins on the existing navbar looks a bit cluttered when having a lot of them.

This has probably nothing to do with the last fw release, but I just noticed it today.
Booted my pineapple with usb flashdrive attached and all is good: /dev/sda1 6.4G 251.0M 5.8G 4% /usb
I pulled my flashdrive and attached a usb hub to my pineapple and replugged flashdrive: /dev/sdb1 6.4G 251.0M 5.8G 4% /mnt/sdb1 hmmmmm <_<
Each time I reinsert my flashdrive a new mount is created, why?
UPDATE: Booting with hub and flashdrive all is normal again, but a flashdrive should be pluggable without creating new mounts IMHO

1. Will https attempts be redirected, or go nowhere? For example, some user browsers default to an https site such as for E-mail. They'll need to be redirected automatically to the internal web.
You can redirect every page the user tries to visit to your Pinapple, see DNS Spoof Landing Page e.g. 172.16.42.1 *
2. How much storage space is there internally for the webserver? Can it get files from external USB storage if needed?
Internally not much, but you can link everything to external USB storage
3. What actual webserver is it? Apache? Nginx ... etc.? Got PHP?
uhttpd with php4
4. It may be necessary to use WPA. This is not for security reasons, it's because some user browsers like on my Kindle Fire throw up their own "login" screen when the user attempts to connect to a truly nonsecured access point.
WPA with Karma isn't supported, but you can setup the pineapple as a normal AP with WPA, see the module "Network Manager" from Whistle Master

I noticed that fixing isn't that easy, I've tried :P

Can't wait to get crackin' :P now waiting for my AWUS036NHA to arrive

Sounds good, but I personally like them as network activity LED's as well.
Maybe a module for LED's?

When logging in the pineapple web interface there's a link (in top menu) called Pineapple Bar where you can install new infusions aka modules ;)
P.S. Make sure your pineapple has a internet connection.
-
Looks like a nice feature. I don't have my pineapple with me now, but does it backup the moduleList as well? See my thread here

It got it up an running fine with the web.zib but I am curious, has seb's git hub been moved?
Here's my Github fork ;)

Thank you so much for the help. One more thing. I was thinking of buying this one but I notice at the end of TX and RX theirs a 'D' on it. Will that still work?
Yup that one will work and the D stands for data ;)
I have this one

I've got them all uploading from my torrent server, but it doesn't look like too many people are grabbing them.
Noticed that as well and most peers are from the USA and not to many EU countries, is the internet becoming slow :P

"Sigh" I have tried this.... I will try again on another computer today and report back my findings.
Did you try another computer?

LAN and WAN leds don't work.
I know this is a known problem, but just wanted to register it here for the record :P

I might whip something up in Dreamweaver while im waiting for my pineapple to ship, Has anyone got apache and php working on the pineapple or do we need an external host?
Pineapple runs uhttpd with php4 ;)

You have set an incorrect baud rate for the COM port.
In putty, find the setting and change it to 115200.
That will fix your issue.
Best Regards,
Sebkinne
Must be the baudrate indeed.
Putty puts a default baudrate of 9600 which will give garbled output, it must be set at 115200.
When you've selected serial, you can set the baudrate on the right side of the COM port value or in putty menu left at the bottom which says serial.

What kind of serial cable are you using?

Running fw 2.6.1 using a powered hub with a flashdrive.
When booting with my Atheros AR9271 (Alfa AWUS036NHA) inserted all is good, pineapple detects it as wlan1 and internal as wlan0
When booting with my Ralink RT2501/RT2573 inserted, pineapple detects it as wlan0 and internal as wlan1. Why is the Ralink assigned as phy0 instead of the internal wlan
Only when booting the pineapple without the Ralink and inserting it after boot it will detect as wlan1.
dmesg output with both devices inserted:
