I am partial to Slax and DSL (Damn Small Linux) Slax has full KDE and is pretty and feature rich DSL is much more streamlined and works wonderfully on older machines. Both have worked wonderfully for me for virus scanning, file transfers over networks, I even salvaged a lost partition using gpart.
