  1. Anyway, the S10-2 will arrive today, so what would you do?

Keep it or ditch it for N900/Pandora and why?

In your case id probably stick with the lenovo :) The Original post was in regards to a nice pocket sized unit that would be able to run something like metasploit so maybe anything will do that will allow for injecting packets after making that choice results will vary methinks

  2. So, if you had to decide between a Netbook or the N900, what would you go for?

(I know, you can't really compare the two but oh well.)

Well, Obviously i went with the n900 :)

I would just research the pros and cons of each device and make your decision accordingly.

Ultimately id love to have a lenovo x200 but those are too much..

This site has been around for awhile : http://www.dynamism.com/ has a nice selection of touchpad and portable solutions.. Just throwing that out there..

  3. Here's mine for the month

Like the Amiga inspired Nickname.. I so hated that error; it happened a lot when i was using lightwave back in the day :P

Im curious what hardware are you running 4.1 on? I have a a3000 and a a2500 and have been looking at maybe tinkering around with this.

Dont mean to derail the conversation if you want to PM me go for it..

  4. We have just enabled HTTP hosting. More information can be found on the site: http://theowned.net/?q=node/10

You may want to look at this as well: http://serverkit.org/modules/httpx/ if you plan on providing users with http access..

On of the main reasons why I use it..:

By using these features httpx introduces minimal overhead, and allows us to continue using all the popular web server software - even more freely than before, since you don't need to be concerned about things like mod_perl or mod_php security issues or instabilities effecting the shared process space of your entire vhosts pool. Every domain can have it's own minimal specific and simply configured instance of Apache, while sharing a single IP:port. Every domain can even run a completely different web server software if desired.
  5. I am looking for a small cheap hacking device (not a tablet like in my last post). What i want is something like a PDA or tiny laptop. Preferably can fit in my pocket. It should run linux or at least have a Metasploit port. Anyone have any ideas on what i should look at? Price range is around $100-200.

I have a nokia n900 which i use for pentesting and runs metasploit fine. Thats around the 400 dollar range currently but because of Nokia stepping on their dicks once again and ditching Maemo 5 OS for meego i suspect you will be able to pick up these things new cheaper in the coming months..

You can pick up a older nokia like an n800 and get metasploit running on that as well. I think they are around 200bucks..

  6. So post what you have on your multipass maybe what your opinion of these tools. Of course you don't need to post the menu.lst code on this topic.

For me i needed to consolidate installers into one stick as i was getting tired of carrying around multiple cd's..

Debian Net installer << got the GUI installer to work but wasnt paying attention on the initial test and wiped out my flash when it asked about installing grub :D . I also had a issue when asking to install the wireless firmware so i opt for the rj45connection.

Minimal Gentoo Installer << A bit of coaxing but i got this to run as well.

    CentOS minimal Installer

The rest are the usual suspects I did get windows PE ultimate running as well.

I still have yet to find a grub4dos solution for a windows XP installer from usb (and yes i FGI :P )

  7. A way for Windows users (Me) to create splashimages

If this was answered i do apologize for the redundancy.

You can use gimp for windows. Do all the image processing that Darren went through in that show. Then save the file as a BMP. Using the imagemagick win32 port of the command "convert" to convert the BMP to a xpm.gz :

    convert imagename.bmp imagename.xpm.gz

You can pick up the latest binaries from here: http://www.imagemagick.org/download/binaries/

    Im using ImageMagick-6.6.2-Q16-windows.zip currently.
