  1. No problem!

I put a link to the tripod that I purchased from Amazon above. Did a lot of searching, tried to get one that looked sturdy and similar to Darren's from what I could see on the show.

Here's the tripod, folded up, next to the hakshop-purchased Yagi:

Here's a closer shot of the tripod connection plate. Note that the threaded screw is in the center, and in front of that is a spring-loaded peg. I intend to drill the appropriate hole for it soon, but for now it just compresses when I screw the antenna on:

Here's a shot of where I drilled the hole in the mounting plate attached to the Yagi, and then used a tap to thread the hole. I left it on to provide more thickness (for more thread surface), as well as stability:

Here's the Yagi attached to the tripod. Rock Solid!

And lastly, here's a shot of the same, only showing the full extension of the tripod, both on the legs and the center post:

I hope this helps you and anyone else wanting to mount the Yagi on a tripod!

Next project is to mount the scope and/or laser pointer. I'll be sure to share what method I manage to come up with!

    Good luck!

Awesome setup! What's the tripod model? Could you provide a link? Thanks!

  2. Let me clarify. Its actually to a floating charger not just a outlet plug lol

wow! haha, I'm looking for a system to integrate inside an enclosed hdd case for my AP51. But I'm still debating either to risk a custom internal battery/smart bat charger which can potentially explode lol or just run it off the external battery pack. What did you use for the Ethernet port? And do you know if its possible to create two power inputs? I'm thinking of hooking up a USB Port +/- to a DC +/- going into a barrel for the router. Would that cause any issues?

  3. The HP 2710p runs Backtrack 5 R1 x64 very well. Not sure if this helps but worth a try. :D

You can find it on ebay for around $200.

Has a 64bit CPU and 4gb max ram.

And the built in wifi card is intel. (works in monitor mode and packet injection)

And you can find a 2nd battery for around $40 and get around 6 to 8 hours of battery life.

    He wants a netbook.

  4. I actually use a purse organizer from Totes to carry a Pineapple Mark II, III, two pineapple-sized additional dev boards, 3G modem, serial to usb adapter, serial dev board, JTAG programmer, usb duckies, awus036h, spare android, retractable ethernet cables, usb power cables, usb AA battery pack, directional rp-sma antennas, 9dbi dipole antennas, leatherman and rubber bands. don't discount the hacking capabilities of rubber bands. seriously this thing is the work horse of my portable development rig.

Do you actually use the Yagi Antenna sniper tripod you have? And does it come handy?

  5. it's not just for the pineapple...

    from the site..

"this 2.4GHz 16dBi Yagi antenna features an RP-SMA connector for use with the ALFA AWUS036H, WiFi Pineapple, Ubertooth One or other WiFi gear."

Yea I saw that, sorry I reworded my question(s).

  6. So, the 16dBi Yagi Antenna from the store is just a high end antenna for the pineapple, wifi, etc correct? It would just benefit the range distance? And would there be any issues with using it? Thanks

  7. Hey guys new to this. So correct me if I'm wrong, Pineapple is basically a router with OpenWrt installed in it correct? Which can be used to make users connect to it and do man in the middle attacks etc? If so is it possible to install OpenWrt on another type of router? Thanks
