  1. I can't tell you if that is normal for freifunk but you shouldn't have an IP address of 192.168.1.0 as it is an invalid IP, you shouldn't have a 0 at the end, change that if things don't work out and try again.

Also, flashing does take a long time, not usually over an hour though.

    Hi,

i couldn't get frefunk to work so i tried doing in in linux and it work first ttime and only took about 2min to do

all up and working now yay!

    thanks again

  3. i have installed jasager firmware fom diginija website

after many failed attempts it is finaly up and running the only problem i have is the karma doesn't seem to work

it says karma is currently ON but when i test it nothing happens

i turned my home router off and had jasager running, so when my wifi card on my laptop searches for my home router i would of thought karma would pick this up?

    any advice please

  4. ok after all day trying to get jasager on my fon i finaly did it

then stupidly i changed a network setting and my fon now has no ip addess

from what i can make out using wireshark the fon is now listening on 0.0.0.0

but i have no idea how to fix this please help

ok problem solved after the reset button did not work i had to do a complete flash again.

does anyone know if once loaded the firmware jasager v2 from diginija website do the madwifi drivers still need to be installed also does ruby need to be installed?

    thanks

  5. hi,

i am in the middle of flashing my fon using freifunk, at the moment is says,

    peer MAC 00:18:84:11:7f:d8

    peer ip:192.168.1.254

    your MAC 00:ba:be:ca:ff:ee

    your ip: 192.168.1.0

it has been stuck on that for the last hour, i am not sure if it is ment to be doing anything else or not. in task manager it is still using 50% of my cpu.

i do not know what i am ment to be seeing, hope someone can help on this

  6. Hey did you have any luck with your fon I to just got mine and it is loaded with 0.7.0 r2 looking for any insight/help. Did you have to use the serial connector or were you able to get it done a different way. Thanks in advance.

    hi,

i haven't done much more on it. i have done some reading and instead of using a serial connection you can ssh into the fon and do it that way.

i am going to try it later ill let you know how it goes

  7. There are loads of howtos in the forums and wiki. Assuming you are using windows just fire up freifunk and fill in the fields.

hi, i did what you said and i get the results from Freifunk:

stderr:Non arp received make sure, the device is connected directly

    perr MAC: 00:18:84:11:7f:d8

    peer IP: 0.0.0.0

    stderr:Telnet for redboot not enabled

i am pluged in with ethernet cable my NIC is set to dhcp and the defualt ip address of my fon is 192.168.10.1

not sure what im doing wrong

  8. See if you can flash it with either redboot or one of the windows apps first and if you can't then you'll need to start messing.

    thanks for the reply,

this would be my first time flashing a router do you have any guides i could follow to do this?

i have read on the ddwrt wiki page that i have to mount a serial adapter to the fonera is this true?

would really appriciate any advice you could give me

    thanks

  9. hi guys,

i had a post on here asking advice for a network project and i got some really good feedback and thank you.

i have decided for my project to build a network access control (NAC) based on linux

i am wondering if anyone has got any ideas on the best way to do this or if the hak5 team have ever done a video on this sort of area

    thanks

  10. hi guys,

i have posted comments on the ddwrt and open wrt fourms but it seems like no one can reply

i am after advice if anyone has installed ddwrt on a router

    i have a d-link dir-615 D2 provided by virgin media

this is the first time i am trying to do anything like this, on the ddwrt router database there are to file for this. am i right in doing the following

go to my wweb interface on the router and navigate to the firmware page

    upload the dlink-dir615d-factory-webflash.bin

wait for that to load and then

    upload the dir615d-revb-ddwrt-webflash.bin

    thanks in advance

  11. ah ok i see,

so i could create ip rules to prevent ICMP redirects and etc

do you think it is possible to create these rules and then some how place them onto an open wrt router? or am i getting ahead of myself

    thanks

  12. Unfortunately final year projects do not have to be (apparently) unique (if this were the case there might be more innovation from universities).

You could make a primitive IPS/IDS. It could have various different operation modes such as 'firewall only', 'paranoid' and 'extremely paranoid'.

'firewall only' mode just prevents unwanted external access.

'paranoid' mode does things like attempts to prevent ARP poisoning attacks form the internal network.

'extremely paranoid' mode prevents passwords been sent over the internet in plaintext and other things.

    hi thanks for you response.

thats sounds like an amazing idea and i would love to build my own thing like that, but i think its a little more than im capable of doing. i wouldn't know where to start.

do you know of any websites where i could get an idea on start doing it?

  13. hi guys,

i am at uni doing my degree in networking. the time has come to do my final year project, my main area of interest is network security so i want to do some amazing project on hacking and security.

but its pretty hard to think of something that hasn't already been done!

so i was wondering if you guys had any cool ideas on what would make a good hacking project

    thanks

  14. in episode 611 with mubix he used smb with psexec.

for this demo he had to know the password for the user. i am trying to find out how it would be done if the password is not know, how could this be found out?

    thanks

  15. hi guys,

am i looking for some examples of attacks that can be performed when i am acting as the man in the middle

i have set up a fake AP which clients can connect to me and get an ip address and still use the internet

i normally run etthercap and start the arp spoofing attack but i find the internet browser warning the client about an issue

so am just wondering if anyone has any example of other things that can be done
