  1. Hey guys thanks for the replies, I appreciate it! What Im doing now is running an ethernet cable from my new router to my old one and Ive been reading up on cascading two routers however when it says to change the config of the second router -- I can only access the setup page of my FIRST router ( the new one, and I WANT to access the setup page of the old one so I can switch DHCp of off) ANyone know how?)
  2. Ahh okay -- that was the answer I was dreading but knew was coming.... So basically what I need to do (I want to have my netlab running via ethernet cables so I can use linux since my wireless card is fairly new.) So excuse me if I'm miles off but Id have to run an ethernet cable from my new router to my old one (in the lab) and give the old router (in the lab) and unused Ip address so it would kind of be like a switch?
  3. Hey guys, I have to leave for school soon so I'll try and fit this in. Okay so basically our main network upgraded routers so I was the beneficiary of the old router/windstream modem etc..... I setup the new network -- working good -- but my question is, I have my little nerd lab in the basment and I want to run a DSL adapter on the phone jack to a windstream modem to a router that will broad cast a signal in my nerd lab so I can run a server down there etc. so my question is -- is it possible to have two home networks using two separate phone jacks and windstream modems but running on one DSL account? I dunno if that quesiton made sense -- but if you have a helpful answer id appreciate it :D
  4. Guys, thanks for the help. But I mean, alot of you dont think a laptop/netbook with minimal performance is around 200 dollars... and yes, Im just looking for an old netbook that someone wants to sell because they cant play their beloved video games on it any more.. I plan on booting a linux distro on here and having fun with meta sploit ;)
  5. Hey guys im looking in the 200 dollar price range, what are some decent hack tops I could buy then werent made for hacking, but fit the specs.... and yeah I know, hacking has no specifications, Im just looking for a decent computer with the windows OS, nice RAM, quick internet connectivity, and in my price range. thanks :)
  6. Hey there, This summer I worked and got around 320 dollars. Im looking for a nice laptop or netbook I could use that only costs around 200 dollars, I plan on using this as my hack top, and all im looking for is decent internet connectivity, and nice RAM, so im not coming back 2 years later and finding out my youtube video didnt buffer correctly. Haha and in all seriousless im only looking for functionality, and supports the windows OS, if not, ill just partition the hard drive and boot linux.
  7. No... I mean like what websites? This is a one is a year opportunity.
  8. What should I do now that the internet security is temporarily off? Any ideas?
  9. Okay, I just removed a very malicious virus after about three hours of work. luckily I found a way to restore my PC. However Im sure its still lurking there some where, waiting to strike a second time. Does anyone know of a free AV I can run once, to get rid of malicious files? Im not asking for the best thing on the market, just free, and does the job somewhat correctly.
  10. Sorry for the delayed reply, ive been hopping forums looking for the most active community so I can settle in, so far its between here, and between hack forums. Only problem there is you get a bunch of retarded black hats that cant hack, they just use coded RATs etc. and call themselves hackers. Any ways, I tried your way, how ever, I was wondering.. how do I set up my wpa-supplicant? every time I try it i savve it as a .conf file, but it saves as a text on my desktop, and every time I try to run it using your code, it says it cant be found. Any help oh wise one?
  11. Okay I just started using Cain and Able, I know its for script kiddies, which I am, which is why im using it :0 and probably why im here asking another question. Okay, when I go to sniff my subnet is 192.168.1.1 -> 192.168.1.254. which is correct, and I search for mac addresses, none come up, even though my comptuer, my sisters lap top, the router, and the family computer are on. (We arent rich by the way, my dad just gets a bunch of el cheapo stuff from his company after people get laid off) I also have my wireless card selected when I go to the option. I use a linksys router and a wusbg600n wireless adapter, im pretty sure its supported but im just wondering if any of you know what the problem is. And also when I use nmap in the CMD to search for host, 4 come up in my subnet, so I dont see why I dont get any results back when using cain. Any help?
  12. Hey guys, this is my first post here, and from what i've seen so far on the forums. this place looks like my one stop shop for all my hacking needs. Anyways, I am using BT4 for the first time. First time for any backtrack to be honest. and I got my wicd manager working, etc etc. It detects my router perfectly fine. However my family router security uses a WPA shared key. Which backtrack 4 does not use under the wicd manager to connect to a wireless network. I could change my router security to WEP or something more simplified, how ever my parents do not want to reset every object in the house that uses internet. SO I cannot change my router security. I think I may have made this post sound over confusing so if you need clarification, ask, but any help is appreciated, I would like to be on my feet as soon as possible :)
