Aye. On the one we've got at work, there's a duct directing the air from the two fans directly over the CPU.
If I ever decide to get a rack-mount, I'll probably get a 3U or 4U case, since I don't think a U1 could handle 5 3.5" HDDs (4 of them hot-swap).

We've got one of those at work, I think it's got 2 x 40mm fans and that damned thing is freaking loud. I'm glad it's in the server room.
My guess why it's so loud is that the 2 fans have to be set for high RPMs to get the air flowing over the CPU.

FTP is always good. I wouldn't do the whole anon uploads/downloads thing personally.
I'd rather use SCP (or is it SFTP?) over SSH instead of plain FTP. More security there, since the link is encrypted.
I wouldn't do the whole upload/downthing thing either, since it totally kills your bandwidth and it might be more hassle then it's worth if your upload speed is low.
The anonymous download thing sounds risky tbh.

That would be the simplist/easiest free solution.

i'm managing an internet cafe with 11 or so machines,9 thin clients, linux file server etc ... used all the above mentioned AV, but the machines still get infected,, leading the network to be infected decreasing performance.. best solution i could come up with was to run an AV with Deep Freeze (or some kind of program that does the same thing)... reduces hassels
That does sound like a good solution for that situation. I use Avast! on my home machines (minus server, which is using BitDefender). At work they run McAfee or AVG.
I prefer Avast, but BitDefender is high up on the list as well.

I just finished up my multiboot disk, got most of the problems worked out due to this thread.
Thanks to the guys at Hak5 for doing a great episode.
I think the only one I had a problem with was KNOPPIX and Trinity Rescue Kit. (both had to be in the root of the drive)
I didn't create a usb disk with trinity on it, but just copied the trk3 directory into the root of the thumb drive. The thumb drive's volume label is "MULTIPASS."

Nice backplane. I've got all my stuff in a regular desktop case right now, eventually I'll rprobably move to rack-mount, but I doubt it'll be soon, since what I'm using now works fine.
