  1. Hi there. i'm new to the forum and i digested the 5x24 and 6x02 (not too sure about 6x02 but i'm sure i went through the other video) in regards to multipass/multiboot usbs.

i have a few questions regarding this as i have been going through a few problems all night and i am stuck like mad. it should also be noted i am a linux noob, but i felt proud to have at least solve a few problems along the way.

i have wanted to create a multipass at the moment with at least Hiren's Boot CD and Ubuntu. I have also chosen to include Ultimate Boot CD and GParted as well for times when i will need it - most likely installing OSX86, which is like rarely.

However, the biggest problems right now i have are these:

    1) Hiren's Boot CD version 10.1

In terms of booting this, i have managed to sucessfully boot it to the menu selection screen along with entering into the sub menus to choose the sub items. however, there are particular items that i am unable to start up, and i see that they somehow have an asterisk/star behind the name of the program. when i try to load it, it will end up saying "HBCD is not found" and so on. I was thinking, i am booting from HBCD so how can it somehow end up not finding it? is there a solution for this?

    2) Linux based Ubuntu and GParted

In regards of these two programs, i end up having Kernal Panic and can not continue to load or do anything after the program gets stuck. i do not know the reason why this is happening. it feels very weird to me - or that i am used to using unetbootin for making USB bootable Ubuntu systems.

I can post a printscreen if it helps in understanding the problem.

I have continously tested on VMware with the USB VM tester and only managed to solve problems for Ultimate Boot CD although i have never loaded the programs inside.

Here is some other info, which i am not sure if it helps:

    Computer Spec/Info:

Lenovo Thinkpad X200 (1st Gen) with 3GB ram and 160gb hdd with Vista Home Premium.

    USB selected for task:

Sandisk Cruzer 4GB - New version which does not come with U3 system.

Programs used in process (Not in order):

Ubuntu 9.10 and 9.04 (LiveCD) iso

Gparted Version 0.4.4 (although i just realised my menu says 4.3-2, typo = =)

    Hiren's Boot CD version 10.1

Ultimate Boot CD forgot which version
