Hey guys i need some help. I stupidly have a external hard drive formatted to fat32....so as u know i cant put anything over 4gb on it. Its a 1tb drive. And i have plenty of space. What i want to do is put a 70gb truecrypt file on it while i do a quick format of my computer. So what i was wondering is if i compress it and split it into 650mb files when i go later to decompress it and open the truecrypt container will i have problems or should it be fine. I have a feeling im going to run into problems after its been compressed.... ......

ok i have all firewalls disabled I have the server setup on port 1337 and i am using the vm's ip haha im not that n00b guys :P. i have port 22 and 1337 forward to my wireless router. Its no big deal its only a torrent server im connecting from ssh to use rtorrent and some other programs. I just want a simple vm to do it instead of having a server set up for something so simple. Anyway all that is setup i have no clue whats going on i googled for a whole day and trying everything i found and still nothing.

yeah thats not the problem I'm using putty on the windows 7 host to connect but when i connect with putty on windows XP on a different computer i cant connect to the ubuntu server at all.

Ok so here's the problem i have a vm all set up to use ssh. The VM is Ubuntu 9.10 and the host is windows 7 enterprise. I am able to ssh into the VM from the host machine but not from another computer. The vm's network is bridged and i have the firewall turned off also i enabled SSH on the host machine. I'm using putty to connect on both the host and the outside computer but it only connects on the host. Any help guys?

The bet started because i was bored and it seemed like a fun little project...plus $100 if i can get that server running before Christmas. But I'm going to try all of what you guys are telling me and let you know. :)

Hey all. My friend and i have a bet that i cant crack his wireless which is done and use it to set up a ssh server. the only problem im having is port forwarding on his router any ideas?

I was thinking since android is based off of a linux kernel and even has a terminal with the app of course there should be a way to run aircrack-ng to crack wep and wpa/wpa2 wireless. This is something I've been thinking about since i got my android phone.

I have done other OS in vmware and they all work fine its only Backtrack that wants to give me a problem.

Hey guys. I've been testing out backtrack 4 in vmware workstation and I'm having a problem with getting my wireless to work with the vm when i check it shows nothing available. Any ideas or solutions????
