  1. After issuing the command (reaver -i mon.wlan0 -b <bssid> -c <channel of WAP> -vv) reaver hangs on waiting for a beacon from the AP. This is my own AP and I have successfully tested Reaver against it in the past, any suggestions? My mark IV is running the 1.0.2 firmware.

  2. I'm attempting to use giskismet to convert my kismet-newcore logs into a kml. I'm able to successfully get them into the wireless.dbl file successfully. However, when I issue the second command in the process (giskismet -q "select * from wireless -o final.kml), the kml file contains nothing. Can anyone offer some insight into this problem?

  3. Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows if the AWUS036H works with airdrop-ng

Any wireless NIC that supports packet injection will work with airdrop-ng. So yes, the AWUS036H will work with airdrop-ng.

  4. In my computer organization and architecture class, we were assigned homework over this subject. I think I got the right answers, but I would be very grateful if someone could take a look at this for me.

    the questions are.

11-A.) in a computer instruction format, the instruction length is 11 bits and the size of an address field is 4 bits. Is it possible to have

    5 2-address instructions

    45 1-address instructions

    32 0-address instructions

using the format? justify your answer.

11-B.) Assume that a computer architect has already designed 6 2-address and 24 0-address instructions using the instruction format given in 11-A. What is the maximum number of 1-address instructions that can be added to the instruction set?

  5. The college I'm currently attending offers a degree in both Computer Science as well as Information Technology. In the future, I would like to pursue a career in information security. Would one of these two course paths be more useful to me than the other?

below I've included links describing the two degrees.

    IT course description

    CS course description

My gut instinct tells me that IT would be the proper choice, but the input of someone currently active in the industry would be very greatly appreciated.

  6. I keep getting an error about being unable to mount sda1 because of unsupported optional features (240)

  7. Okay, after quite a bit of experimentation, I finally got everything working perfectly. :) For anyone also having problems with Kon-boot receiving the message about running the configuration program provided by the manufacturer after running, my configuration fixed that for me, so give it a shot.

  8. Yes, the drive is sata. However, if I boot the tool from the cd I burned it works fine. So whatever the issue is, I'm fairly certain it's because of grub4dos.

  9. I should also mention this is part of my multipass usb. menu.lst is below. I just burned ntpasswd to cd and it worked fine.

  10. While trying to reset a password on my home machine playing around I've been running into some problems with the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. After booting up, the only available drive it shows to manipulate is the flash drive itself that I'm running the program from. Can anyone offer some advice as to what my problem may be? I've experienced this on both machines running at my home.

  11. I was following a tutorial on bridging my pineapple to monitor network traffic using this guide

    http://dimitar.me/?p=277

    However, after doing this step

Step 4. Before we can configure our wired interface, we need to give the fon router a static IP address and DHCP server IP. Connect your fon router to your Ethernet port and power it on. Now open your browser and connect to the webif interface of the router. In my case it is http://192.168.1.1/webif.html (Refer to Daren Kitchen’s tutorial if needed). Go to the “Network” tab and change the connection type to DHCP, leave the “Type” to “Bridged” and put in the IP address of 192.168.0.250 and the Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Click “Save Changes” and then “Apply Changes” in the bottom right corner of the page. And finally, in the “Connection Type” drop-down go back to Static IP and make sure that the new settings are retained:

I was unable to connect to my pineapple and access the interface wirelessly or through ethernet. Is there any way to fix this?
