Ive never really used it, but check out TrueCrypt. You could encrypt the whole first partition, meaning that anything in the second shouldnt be able to access it. Just a suggestion. Apologies if I have I'm wrong :) TrueCrypt

Im using a Lexicon Alpha for recording at the moments. Its a little USB interface. Out the box, I was well impressed - seems really sturdy and full of features. However, I find that it's really quiet. I mean, really really quiet, cant-hear-recordings-without-jacking-up-the-DAWs-gain-so-that-its-all-hissy quiet. Which is really frustrating, as its a gift, and the components, from what ive read, are all pretty good quality. Ideas?

Other than your switchblade and hacksaw stuff, can this be used to boot to USB Linux Distros? It would save me going into the BIOS everytime if i could just plug it in, and restart.

Yeah. I like it :) Burning discs to HD saved some of my games. I bought some games, such as Rainbow 6 Vegas from PlayTrade for like £1, badly scratched. Luckily for me, my xbox still reads it as Rainbow 6 Vegas, but gets "disc unreadable" errors. Fix? I simply borrowed the game from a friend, ripped it to my xbox HD and use my scratched up version to verify that I own the games. Sorted :) Mind you, the marketplace is a bit too messy for me. Maybe Im just not used to it.. However some games are optomised to be run from disc, like Halo 3. Avatars are pretty sweet too. Need more options for customising though. Maybe some more clothes.. Overall, I like it :)
