Nice setup! What are you controlling with MisterHouse? Does it interface at all with your IP cameras or Asterisk? If not, what software are you using for your IP cameras?

I have x10 devices all throughout my house (lights, appliances, etc.), and I use MisterHouse to control these using a computer or with voice commands.

The IP cameras and my Asterisk box are not setup with MisterHouse, but I may do that in the future.

To View my cameras I am use TRENDnet VortexIP Lite 8, but I also have the option to use the cameras built in web server to view each cam.

Yes, I use the iPod touch as a remote for automation. I also use it to control XBMC on the Living room HTPC, using the XBMC app.

That's pretty cool. I had that idea the other day while looking at the prices of universal remotes. And then poof there was the LAN layout in front of me.

Since XBMC doesn't have PVR capabilities, I'm assuming that is being handled by the mythServer. Do you then stream media out from that box or do you have a fileshare for the HTPCs running XBMC?

That is one sweet setup. I have to apologize in advance if I end up asking to many questions, but I have been planning more than doing on my home network as my GF has me house hunting lately. ohmy.gif

My Myth server records to my FreeNAS box, then XMBC connects to my NAS shares and streams the content over the network.
I can also watch live TV using XMBC using the built in plugin. It glitches a little, but it works.

I don't mind answering questions. You can email me if you have more questions and I will do the best I can to answer them. My email is on my profile.

why do you have 48 ports on your switch :> ?

I have 2 24 port Gigabit switches. One for my home network, and one for my business network.
