  2. Speaking of NAT router's specificly "linksys" has anyone had any problems getting any of them to acquire WAN ip's from cable modem's? I've noticed lately alot of people I've helped setup their internet connection the linksys in the status page the DHCP Release and Renew do not work.  It will release, but never renew it? After various power cycling modem and router it finally will grab a valid ip. 

    I've noticed with my ISP (Cox), that if you change the ethernet device the cable modem is connected to, you must power cycle the cable modem in order to obtain an IP address.  Also, some modems have a "power button" but it only puts the modem in a low power mode, which is not sufficient, you have to disconnect the power at the wall usually.
