I think he means the "OG" Halos were created by Bungie, in which I agree ?

It's interesting because I was just looking into El Dewrito yesterday - but found you needed an existing install of Halo to play it anyway, sadly. ?

Yeah, I think it's like a mod pack of some sort. Not sure, but I thought it was a mod pack for Installation 01, but I might be wrong there so don't quote me on that lol.

It looks pretty interesting. I would recommend looking at El Dewrito and what the talented guys over there are doing.

I think you meant Bungie ?

Actually, 343 Industries was created by Microsoft Studios, and was officially established in either 2007 or 2009 (can't remember which year exactly, sorry).

Bungie was the original creator, yes. However the brand is currently owned by Microsoft Studios (via 343 Industries which is a company that was started by Microsoft Studios and also had its name based off "343" Guilty Spark from Halo 3). The brand was officially 343's property by 2011 and the release of Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary (although I think the first 100% created by 343 Industries Halo game was in fact Halo 4).

So yes, they were not the brand creator, but they are the current brand creators I suppose. I linked that tid-bit of information since it pertained to possible legal questions. Sorry, I should have worded myself more clearly.

  3. I can't help in any other way then to suggest on making your thread title a little more topic related. Something like "Linux file recovery help?" might do the trick. Best of luck bud.

Deano123 - I'm really sorry we completely dropped the ball on this. I really appreciate your patience and understanding - but you shouldn't have to wait a month for your order or a week for a response. You have my word we'll make this right - and in doing so we'll prevent this from happening again.

I must admit we're pretty damn good for the 99% of orders, but the edge cases like yours where packages go lost, stolen, stuck in customs, bounced back to us or any number of other odd exceptions - we can do better.

For what it's worth, we're in the midst of a transition here internally where we're revamping a lot of processes that were put in place ad hoc as we grew from the garage. For the most part there has already been a lot of refinement on the backend, but customer service - especially with these edge cases - is the number one area where we need improvement.

Based on this experience, we're developing a bot which will monitor the packages tracking while they're in transit and alert us if an order is taking longer than usual to get to its destination. That way we can be proactive about notifying the customer and helping in situations where customs or the shipping carriers cause issues.

I know this doesn't immediately solve your particular issue, but know that we're taking the issue seriously and we're working to solve your AWOL package in the process. You'll be hearing from us via ZenDesk/Email shortly.

xinjie00 - Your order held briefly since there was a short delay between the order being accepted and one of the items - I believe the WiFi Pineapple - being available at the warehouse. I'm 99% certain it left the warehouse yesterday (Monday).

Regarding the 30 day policy for international orders - I'd say that it's more like 2-5 days for DHL and 4-11 days for USPS - but unfortunately customs can add up to another 3-4 weeks if the package gets held and while it only impacts less than 1% of orders, sadly it's something that's completely out of our hands. The hope is that our new order tracking/alerting bot will allow us to be proactive in these situations.

And like a Root Admin from realms beyond comprehension, Darren descended swiftly to the aid of his troubled beloved ones. He provided insight, reassurance, and a promise of a better future. What a man, what a guy, ladies and gents...Darren Kitchen.

  5. OK! So, if you don't like Halo games (never did never will kinda dude) then get lost. If you like Halo games now, stick around. Aaaand, if you're like me and you LIVED for the OG Halo games when they rolled out and believe that Halo Reach was the last great game ever created and labeled under the name "Halo"...then grab a beer, some jerky (or tofu I guess), a seat, your favorite old sweaty stained console controller/trackball mouse, a bottle of Mt. Dew, bag of your favorite chips, and those prepare that old notepad full of old college console gaming comebacks!

Installation 01 - The fan-made Halo game for PC

So I don't make games, aside from pong and once a very poorly developed dig-dug like'ish (not really) game. BUT! Some dudes who were like, "what's this tower based stuff (No hate tower based game lovers, just didn't sit well with Halo in my opinion) that the Halo name is rolling out now?!?!" And snap, crackle, pop! POW! A fan made, Halo theme based game for PC! (Not Halo though, because that's trademarked and they would, I mean could, sue.)

Check it out guys! As of this post about 75,000 people have tried it out and about 600 signed up today!

Here's their website where you can find out more about the game and download it...get this...FOR FREE!:

    Installation 01

P.S. Game is based off of Halo 2 and Halo 3, approved by 343 Industries (the creators of Halo), and runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux distros.
