  1. Hey Guys,

I'll try to keep this brief but i wanted to share with you all (hopefully not sounding too much like a total fanboy!) my success story of how Hak5 has let me tour round europe on my motorcycle and operate my solo business at the same time without ANYONE suspecting (cough) that im thousands of miles away from my office (home).

So anyway... ashamedly this time last week i was running my business from home on a Win 7 box, behind a tacky netgear router.. and to be honest this has worked just fine for me for years. My security comprises of my fist on the power switch and my firewall was my .. well you get the point. Anyway i run a small firm (small being err ONE) and most of my clients need stuff done throughout the week. A small window of opportunity came up and so i decided to go on the bike tour ive been thinking about all year! Time was tight so i slapped together an old machine dumped smoothwall on it, opened up some SSH ports and dumped ALL MY TECHNOLUST onto my laptop and GTFO left for Holland :).

So anyway, i was nervous as hell as i had never done anything like this before but i had seen enough Hak5 to know that with a single SSH connection i could get my remote office set up.. remotely!

And to cut a long story short, that is exactly what happened! Ive been through so many episodes that have helped me and ive done more Hak5 related things in the past week than the previous 4 years of watching the show.. ive set up VPN, SSH tunnelling, DNS tunnelling setup a nice little VM subnet.. and right now im on public wifi feeling like my bits are safe and i can share this nice feeling with you all :) I trusted in the technolust and Hak 5 delivered, thanks guys!

Friendly rant over! Peace out :)

P.S. Unrelated: EU roaming data charges are a joke... i thought i could give the android some love but my mobile phone company is charging me ridiculous amounts (circa $75 in 3 days just using google maps couple times!). Any ideas on how to get some cheaper 3G action going on??

  2. Thanks Darren for the in-depth explanation of the live show :D . I was googling around trying to find info on how i can broadcast my camcorder to the web and after 50+ tabs of bs i suddenly thought back to that insane wall of phosphoric radiation and Pauls tanning face (from the screen radiation) and i thought 'Ahhh good old Hak.5 will have all the info i need!'

And sure enough it did :)

Thanks guys, for everything, keep up the good work.

And yes i know im a forum nub, but ive been here in the shadows all along, feasting on your video goodness :)

    Thanks a lot.
