I love Arch. It's been my choice for the last few years.

Is there an i386 version of this, or is it only x86_64?

No worries. Hopefully that works for you

what frequencies are you able to get now?

All I have done was install WINE and adsbscope, and under Other > Network > RAW-data-client set your port to 8008 and url to 127.0.0.1 . Hit OK and then start the Raw data client active under Other. That's what I use.

I use rtl_adsb and pipe it with netcat to 8080 I believe. I then use adsbScope, in the setup I have it drawing the raw data from the same port. Works like a charm for me. *Sorry, I stated the wrong program.

You'll need a good antenna for the satellite thing.

I tried SDR# last night on my netbook running Arch on my eeepc 1005ha, and it bogged down and stuttered. I think the issue was touched on in the last episode when Darren mentioned the processor gets overworked with no modulation. I tried pentoo on the same netbook with GRC, using the same hardcoded radio they created, and it ran no fine, with no stuttering.

there is how to's on building your own antenna. Actually really inexpensive and you get exactly what you want. There is a few things to consider when choosing a new antenna. a great resource for information is the rtl-sdr site
