bump.
I can repeat this over and over again. Initially it will not connect... wait approximately an hour to two hour and it will randomly connect.
Is anybody else having this issue?
If someone wants to pm me, i can open a port so someone can ssh in remotely to diagnose the problem?

do you have multiple instances of wpa_supplicant in the Process list?
No, just one wpa_supplicant process. wpa_supplicant -B -P /var/run/wifi-wlan1.pid -D nl80

I have no idea how this happened. The pineapple is trying to connect to my router through the networkmanager infusion over and over again with no luck. After an hour of unsuccessful auths I leave it alone and come back to it a half hour later and the pineapple connected to the router all on its own. This infusion worked perfectly on 2.7.4 no problem, and now I'm on 2.8.0 and this happens. Can anybody explain this?

Great work on this infusion, fantastic companion to the raspberry pi.
However, I have upgraded from 2.7.6 to 2.8.0 and now I am unable to connect to my router (wndr3700v2) using the USB wifi card on the pineapple.
My wifi router (wndr3700v2) configuration has not changed and I used the same settings as before the upgrade through networkmanager.
Here is my log entry:

I am running 1.6.4 and iwconfig definitely shows both wlan0 and wlan1.
Sorry for the confusion, that's what happens when I don't read what I write.
First, I'm looking for a way to connect to a wifi router using the USB wifi card and have the signal relay through the pineapple so I can use it as a repeater. I followed your instructions on the networkmanager but it just gets me into trouble every time. when i first installed it on the pineapple i experimented with it and somehow ended up with almost 20 entries in the /etc/config/wireless file. Some of them were exactly the same and others i didn't want anymore since they were failed trials. That's when i realized my wifi wasn't working anymore (I talked about this issue in another thread "). So i rebuilt the /etc/config/wireless file, commented out the disable wifi line, and it worked again. Tried networkmanager again, this time using your instructions, and ended up doing the same thing. I'll try it again.
Second, is to scan networks efficiently for wardriving. Maybe I'm doing it wrong which I highly doubt since I do airodump-ng quite often on my backtrack box. As in the previous post, I'm having trouble with the airodump-ng on the pineapple.
I appreciate all the replies, any more helper suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just for curiosity sake, I was wondering if anybody tried or has a suggestion for the possibility of turning a usb connected wifi card (AWUS036NHA) into a client so i can connect it to my home router? I have tried and failed with and iw wlan1 scan and I populate a output "scan aborted!" and i tried the networkmanager with no success. I read (here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/OMAP_Wireless_Connectivity_NLCP_WLAN_IW_commands) that i may need to stop the hostapd process in order to turn it into a station mode.
I've also tried airodump-ng and the screen screws upon scanning. It doesn't refresh almost as if it's running fine in the background but i get no output on the terminal window. I do it on my laptop all the time so I know how to use the tool, but it just doesn't wanna work right on the pineapple.
I'm just looking for a decent way to scan wifi network using the usb wifi card. wireshark implementation? Kismet? wifi stumbler?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

well i fixed my issue once again, just restored the wifi config file but running "wifi down" "wifi detect > /etc/config/wireless" "wifi up" about 3-4 times and removed the networkmanager module. I have no idea why my problems started from messing networkmanager, I tried to revert the changes done but that didn't work until i manually fixed it through ssh with the command above.
Thanks for your help tho guys, i greatly appreciate it. I'll definitely try the reset button next button, it'll probably save me another hour of chasing my tail.

use a usb powered hub and try a different usb cable, lots of issues with cables from hak5
That worked perfectly! USB connected wifi card to the powered usb hub now shows a blue light. You think maybe the voltage drops off with the wire being so long?
anyway, i also fixed my parsing issue:

- commented out all of the "option disable 1" then saved it

and wala! instantaneous blue light on the pineapple.

I'm currenty using the one that came in the pineapple pro pack, the AWU036NHA.
Im still having wifi issues unfortunately. Somehow through a series of ifconfigs and ifups in combination with the networkmanager, no wifi devices will populate. ifconfig just states the br-lan, eth1, eth2, and the loopback. The auto-detect in the network manager won't populate any devices either.
This doesn't look promising either, it was in the log 18 times after a reboot

ummm... nevermind.
After playing with networkmanager from the pineapple bar i was able to start the wireless service. not quite sure why it wouldn't start up on its own at bootup yet networkmanager was able to make it work?

I have the pineapple mark IV and have been playing around with it, absolutely love it! :D
About 2 weeks later after purchase, I screwed in the antennae just like normal, except it kept turning. Then I noticed that the RP-SMA connector was spinning too. I opened the router and found out that i coiled the wire and broke it (verified with a volt meter).
So I ordered a new one from amazon for about 7 bucks (included 2 sets of U.FL to RP-SMA wires). Installed the new wire to the board, fit perfectly, mounted the connector back in the plastic hole next to the ethernet connectors and.... no go. The WLAN light will not light up anymore and I have these messages in the pineapple logs that have me worried.

Wifi Pineapple Public Internet: Error connecting

i made this mistake before... When using wp4.sh make sure that the default settings displayed are actually the settings you should be using. for some reason on my ubuntu build, the wireless interface (in my case, the internet was being routed from my wireless card to the ethernet jack) is bound to eth0, NOT wlan0. Check your ip addresses and interfaces before running wp4.sh.
