  1. I read online that you can use the msata port with ssd as a cache drive.. is there any purpose to this if i'm using a ssd as the main drive? (dual boot off it maybe? extra storage?)

    mSATA SSDs are intended to be used for caching of an HDD so that you can get SSD performance without sacrificing storage. Since you're sticking a 256GB SSD in there (I hope you ordered a 7mm model or it will not fit) there is no need for this. Be sure to make a restore disc set since it will be nice to have should you decide to sell the system in the future.

  2. Unless they buy it on an HP tablet, which people will want, but will not be more than a toy like the iPad. For real work, WIndowss 7 will still be the main thing. There is a registry edit though in win8, not sure if they will remove it, that I changed on my Win8vm, that removes metro adn the new desktop, and it reverts to the identical desktop of Windows 7. So its mroe or less win7, with some new security and touch screen enhancments, and a few GUI changes when in metro desktop mode.

    I'm pretty sure it has the same touchscreen support that Windows 7 has.

    Windows Touch

  3. Save yourself the trouble and just stick with Windows 7. I have no idea what they were smoking putting a touch screen interface on a desktop OS.

  4. After looking at a few reaver tutorials it appears that I am supposed to get the WPAPSK in plaintext, but reaver is giving me a 64 character WPA-PSK which does not appear to be what the average user would input into the password field...

    Any ideas?

    I thought you said this was your router? If it is the WPA-PSK that Reaver spits out is the same password you configured for your wireless.

    That did it, thanks Mr. P!

    For anyone reading this, the solution is...

    reaver -i mon0 -b ... -p (put the pin it gave you here) -vv

    Then it should spit out the plain text pw within a few tries.

    Are you using Backtrack 5 R2? If so do this.

    apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

    That will update everything.
