[Forum "password recovery" is not a recovery]

Short version: Please change the wording in your password reset process so it doesn't say "password recovery".

Long version: After getting the email this morning about needing to change passwords, I tried to log in to do so. I haven't visited the forums in...probably over a year, so I wasn't sure what password I had used. After trying a few and failing, I decided to use the "password recovery" option. After following the steps, I got a message that I should receive my new password in an email. Now I have no way of knowing what password I had used and thus have no idea what sites/services I need to change my password for. If the link had said "password reset" instead of "password recovery", I would have kept trying different passwords until I figured out which one was used here.

I think in hindsight we should have gone more into how the hacksaw works. the segment, while informative, could have been better. For the usb hacksaw and anappaday segments we went by the 10 minute rule, but then threw the rules out the window on the others. sure it was a long show but i dont think going into how exactly the hacksaw works would have been bad.

i'm surprised nobody has complained about the length of the asterisk or powerglove segments, so i guess thats a good thing.

Apparently you and I think similarly to a point. The asterisk and powerglove segments both struck me as too long...

Asterisk...such a major undertaking, I'd say it best to cover in a series of 10-15 minute segments over the course of a few episodes. That way you can cover it more in depth and still not hog an entire episode.

Powerglove...that was tough for me. I'm watching...and watching...and watching...and we're getting nowhere. The longer I wait, the better I expect the result to be. The end was anticlimactic for me, because the result was not particularly impressive. My thought is, if there's basically no chance anyone is going to actually try this out, then it's best to keep the segment short, like a few minutes. Almost kind of a, "hey, look what we did! Fun huh?" Not sure if others agree with me on that.

Aside from those comments...yes, it was another great episode! Definitely finding all of these usb key hacks interesting (even though I don't have one). I was also really psyched to see the AppADay segment, as I'd been racking my brain for days to remember the name of the project! I'd googled stupid stuff like "new app every day" and the like with no luck, and figured it was a lost cause. Then Hak 5 comes out and there it is! Nice.

Overall a pretty good episode, and definitely much better than this month's Systm...or last month's...or the month before that...

[Episode 1x10 release]

With all of the episodes being hosted now, and the fact that there's no torrent for the new episode...should we assume you don't care about having the torrents seeded anymore? Between the 6 episodes I'm seeding right now, I've uploaded a total of 31.13 gigs. Yours has been the only show I continuously seed, but if you're not going to rely on torrents anymore, I'll gladly remove them and save my bandwidth. Let us know what's going on with the torrents...

I'm suddenly really impressed with LibSyn, consistently getting 215k a couple hours after the release...they must be getting slammed, but they're handling it well. I'll open the torrent and seed when my direct download is complete.

(btw...media center remote control by cell phone? That's exactly what I asked for! Thanks :D )

[Do more mid-month releases, break up longer shows]

I just read part two of the release notes for tonights release, and was a little surprised by the comment about run time reaching almost an hour. I'm definitely glad you guys put together that much content, and I'm sure it'll all be pretty interesting...but I just don't want to sit and watch for an hour. Obviously I can resume viewing the larger episode later, but that kind of interrupts the overall flow of the episode. I think it'd be really nice to have more mid-month releases of shorter content. Instead of a giant episode with 10 segments, why not a major release with 7-8 on the 5th and a smaller release with 2-3 on the 15th or 25th? (Yes I realize there've been mid-month releases, but they're usually a comedy skit, no actual content.) Hope you agree this could be a good idea...
