You might try spinrite; people have been able to save a failed drive with this. It is a great error fixing tool that I highly recommend.

Its outrageous. THe cheapest version XP is $99 and Vista can cost up to $450.These people are doing the smart thing and starting to transition to open source.

I was just on wikipedia and I was surprised to find there is not an article for Hak.5. There are articles for articles for Ali, Darren, Wess, and even HaXoR Flakes, but none for Hak.5. I think that one should be created for the people who live on wikipedia who want to know about the show.

If you don't want to take the time to do all of this, rename the file to something that no one will want to look at, put it in a folder (doesn't matter which), and you are safe.
Security through obscurity, its a wonderful thing.

I agree, but wouldn't there be more holes found in the software rather than the distro itself?
For example, many people have the KDE and Gnome desktops installed on their system (including me). If a vulnerability was found in one of these, it wouldn't matter what distro you're running, would it?
Another thing that I was thinking about is that the possibility that one distro comes out that is completely user-friendly, no terminal use is required. The general public would use that as opposed to anything because of its ease of use. Viruses and malware would be written for that one distro because of its popularity.
Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Please tell me your thoughts.

Now that all of this has been said, what do you think will be the future of linux and gaming on linux? Will it ever become one of the most common OS's, or will it always stay greatly inferior to Windows?

If you want to have the same firefox bookmarks/settings at home and on your portable firefox, you could use a browser sync extension. This can really save you a lot of time and energy this way and make things a lot easier on yourself.
