[Small Arcade Cabinet]

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct place however, I'm throwing around an idea of using an old laptop to use for my own arcade machine. I'm thinking of taking out the "guts" of the laptop minus the screen and using it to build my own mame machine. Will this work? I've have all he hardware except an i-pac board and the joystick/buttons. I figured this would be a way to recycle an old machine. With it being already compact this would work. The other is a keyboard for the cabinet I've come up with this solution at the base of the cabinet I would make a secret sliding drawer to store a keyboard and mouse. The monitor I already have a 19" crt so I don't have to buy a new one. Do all of these ideas sound like they would work. would it be a worth while idea to add wifi for an internet connection so I can download new roms straight to the machine or just leave a usb port open for downloading them using a flash drive. If anyone here thinks of some or all the ideas above are good or not I will appreciate all the remarks.

[Need Help Finding A Information On A Previous Show]

I was doing research because I want to make my own arcade tabletop machine. Well hak5 thanks to youtube created one and somewhere on this forum is the plans and everything I need to make it. I don't want to copy but the hardware is the most important thing and I've got a ton of older hardware that really isn't being used and this would work almost perfect.
