Hi
Could the Duck do this.
I have files that I update daily. Could the Duck Add a Folder to Zip file then copy Zipped File to the Duck.
That way to back up my files all I need to do is put the duck in..
Thank You..

I'm still in the planing stage. There are routers that will do the job. But why have a separate Modem.
I want to set up a Torrent and other p2p apps 24 7 server and be able to leave it while I am away. I thought a low power Atom computer would be a great way to do this.
Once I built the big computer then I could work on designing a small form factor one as the components become available.

You know what, I've always wanted to do that, but couldn't find the right add-on card. Out of the cards, I looked at none of them had support for ADSL 2+, they had only for Annex A and ADSL.
With the mini mother boards available it could be done if the cards were there. You could get some real control.

Add-On card. Inside the computer
thx

Hi
Have you ever put a ADSL modem in a computer or know of any project where a ADSL modem has been put in a computer
Thank you....
-
thx Alias
Good links too.
I'm more than happy to get a box that can take all the cards. Smaller is better though. The Netgear WNR3500L with an external USB drive. Is a good option but no ADSL modem.
Please PM me if you get a system up and running..
thx

Hey Dude what are you wanting to run on the box linux, windows ?
you will need to get ether a static IP, or use a service like no-ip.com so you can access it remotly
I want a Linux Box.
I use DynDNS. But thx for the http://www.no-ip.com/ link. I will check them out too.

Hi
I really like the episode Building a high performance home router -. I actually found Hak5 as a result of my research into building such a router. But I want to add an ADSL modem as well. And run selected apps too
My goal is to have an always on low wattage (green) computer so I can experiment with Home Security, Torrents (I make Screen capture tutorials) remotely login onto my home server when I am out. etc
When I'm home I want that computer to be my home Modem Router as well.
If you have any thoughts or ideas for me I would be totally grateful
Cheers Weka
