I have tried the following command but it does not work all the time.
title boot the first harddrive
rootnoverify (hd1)
chainloader +1
For example the following commands works for different pc / laptop
but not interchangable.
Is there a better way to code it for all type of situation ?
title Boot from Hard Drive
#for PC os in partition 1
rootnoverify (hd1,0)
map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)
chainloader +1
#for asus laptop with recovery partition in 1, os in partition 2
rootnoverify (hd1,1)
map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)
# dell laptop laptop with recovery partition in 1, os in partition 2
rootnoverify (hd1,1)
chainloader +1
Please help and thank you.

After serveral testing the following seem to work
on both usb or cd multiboot.
Also in situation that the first partition is recovery and os on second partition.
title Boot first HDD
map (hd0) (hd1) || map (hd0) (hd0)
map (hd1) (hd0) || map (hd0) (hd0)
map --hook
chainloader (hd0)+1
rootnoverify (hd0,1) && rootnoverify (hd0,0)
