  1. The Wal-Marts in my area no longer have demo machines.

In many retail stores you aren't supposed to actually be able to use the demo machines on your own. They play a demo video about the machine and if you're so inclined to deal with a store associate they'll probably let you on while they try to sell you it.

If your local Wal-Mart has demo machines chances are they don't really intend for you to use them.

More importantly, they are probably setup by vendors and the store associates don't know anything about them past where the power cord is.

This is how Wal-Mart NORMALLY sets things like this up.

Oh and btw moonlit, Wally World doesn't have commissions ;)

  2. I guess u shouldnt use big words when talking to them and try to talk slow so the y understand what ur saying and try to talk about girl things like...* has no clue please insert thing girls like to talk about here * and if its a geeky girl just act normal.

Did you just say to limit your vocabulary and talk slowly when talking to a girl so she understands what you are saying? Where you learned how to act around girls I don't know, but....gah.

The problem is he didn't learn to how to talk to girls. And don't forget wallis you're a lot smarter than a lot of people. I don't think I've ever had or heard anybody have a conversation about battery technology. I mean you're definettly one of the more worth while people to talk to in #hak5.

When I'm out socializing, I try really hard to not talk about tech.

It's the topic that I can go on and on and on about forever, and somehow I manage not to notice the person sitting across me doesn't give a shit. It took me quite some time to work out how to do this, as for some reason I naturally jump from some topic to the tech-side of it. I'm starting to get the hang of it though.

Now when someone comes up to me and starts to talk tech, I warn them that they might be biting off more than they might want to chew, and if they wouldn't rather want to talk about (insert something else here. Typically music in general, concerts and movies). At least that way when they persist I can honestly say I warned him/her.

I hear ya, but it's more complicated for me. Most people that want to talk about tech I find either don't know what they're talking about so they 1)bore or 2) annoy me or they're just so weird that they scare me. Long story short I always steer clear of tech too. ;)

  3. If the box you're using it on has a cd burner you don't need to worry about emails. Just use CDFS(?) instead of ISO/UDF and you'll be able to burn on the fly. It's not exactly fast as I recall but it works. Or you could make it a multi-session disk and have it build the data on the hdd then move it over to the cd.

  4. Maxtoid your trying to change something that's hardware biased... like trying you make your hard drive bigger with a software it won't work.

Pssh apparently you've never heard of winRAR.

    haha

  5. win2k3 is basically the same thing as XP.

Main difference is extra security enchancements and server utilities.

However there are many tutorials on setting it up for use as a desktop os(including for playing games like cs ;)).

But it is important to remember that you don't need a server os to run a 'server'. All you need is the proper daemons for the services you'd like to offer.(FTP,HTTP,SMTP,POP3,ETC)

  6. define:terrorist

a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities

    define:cyber-terrorist

hacker: a programmer who breaks into computer systems in order to steal or change or destroy information as a form of cyber-terrorism

Not that I agree with the use of the word but I don't agree with using the word terrorist in the first place. It just seems like a relatively new and flawed idea to me. I mean why isn't the US government considered a terrorist group?

  7. A cyber-terriorist would be someone who hacks into networks/computers without permission and does harm. Specifically with a political agenda.

So no they didn't really make it up, but calling them terrorists is a load of shit that's just going to confuse people. :)

  8. Quit your bitching please.

I've seen the code. If you need it to be commented to understand it you won't be able to do anything with it anyways. It's not a long program.

If pandora fixes it so 3tunes doesn't work who cares? Oh no people can't exploit them anymore! God damnit pay some cash then asshole.

Don't get me wrong open source is great, but if the developer doesn't want to open the source that's his/her business not yours. Chances are if they have the skill to write a program that does something you're intrested in seeing the code for they've heard it all before and have chosen not to release the source for a reason. The more you whine the less likely the source will be released.
