I stopped using Adobe reader years ago, but this year I ran into a new twist and had to install it. It seems a new trend in PDF's is is appearing in the market place. Many paid for PDF documents are locked into Adobe, they will not open with any other reader but Adobe, have tried several readers.

For instance; a family member is taking online college courses, all the online course material is locked into Adobe. Have talked to their IT person, and they tell me there is no work around.

Have also bought some online books in PDF and they are locked in Adobe too.

Just doesn't seem right.
