  1. Oh and btw, what kind of a gay-ass discussion is this?

I don't hear anyone complaining they're in the TWiT army.  Personally, i'd prefer being a -ling then a private for Leo.  Or a soldier in any war.

Who are they fighting?  Army sounds soo wrong.

  2. This is vaguely reminiscant of the Trekkies versus Trekkers debate.

Haklings is ok, Hakkers less so but probably more acceptable.

Hakfans is nice and neutral. Hakhats is kind of an in-joke.

My personal favorite would be ice cave dwellers, but few people are old enough to get it.

  3. I loved the concept, it looks much more fast-paced and call-in is a definate plus.

the bad, well, it was choppy, and even with better hosts you'll always keep running into scalability issues as the concept keeps growing.

Like i mentioned, what would be great is having 'front-row seats' for like $2.99

higher quality on a separate stream, for like 100 people or so. Just an idea.

Live is a keeper for me, especially since it makes things easier for you guys too (no 72 hours editing sessions for darren who then gets nuts on irc ;-) )

  4. Sounds awfully like a geek dating service to me with Hak5 as a common interest.

Whoa whoa whoa dude... no. totally not what this is.

It's a hak5 fan meetup service. duh. and since hak5 fans are the coolest beotches on the Internet we'd just be helping peeps meet geek'd out friends.

yeah, it's more like, only on release day. if the 5th is a friday or a saturday i usually have a buddy or 2 over to watch, but we're trying here to get fans to come out of their isolation and meet other fans

remember people, we're the best community ever, but we cannot leave anyone behind if we want to stay that way.

and maybe of lesser importance in this broadband age, but this is a great way to introduce the show to new people who might not want to download 300Mb, or aren't able to (modems)

  5. the way i see it, this dvd could also be used as a 'starter deck'

if you include the Hak.5 in 60 Secs bit as the opening, people coudl burn this dvd and give it to friends that never watched the show and don't have the means/bandwidth to download it themselves.

Also, this would be a good opportunity to mail this to networks/sponsors ... maybe I'm thinking too far out of the box here.

also, little easter eggs in the menus would rock and be totally in spirit

(clickable pi symbol, anyone? :D )
