    If you also open the Windows run menu (GUI + r) and type ncpa.cpl (and press enter) does any ASIX adapter show in the window that is opened (named the same way as the bold ASIX description above) ok, yes its there

    There is still is a solid red led with a round busy icon

    there's just one firmware image that is supposed to be used when doing a recovery. Do not try to flash any other firmware than the recovery firmware image when in recovery mode.
