  1. Hi guys i have bought the mark V and i was wondering something.. i have bought one of them personal wifi hotspots mifi's or whatever the 'kids' are calling them. Now because the mark V has two wireless cards in it, can one of the cards be connected to my own hotspot and the other one used for Jasager or whatever fun stuff i want to run. so i can still give internet access while possibly preforming a mitm?

    Thank guys

  4. Hi guys iv bought a 4gb usb drive today, iv formatted it into ext4 file format.

When i plug it into the mk4 it seems to have detected it in the pineapple control site because i see this:

    lsusb output:

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub <--- no idea what this is

    Bus 001 Device 005: ID 03f0:5307 Hewlett-Packard <-- my usb drive

ok last time i got one working i just needed to go into /usb/ and it was in there but im not sure what im doing wrong,

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

  5. Enable ICS on your wifi adapter first and then manually set your IP to 172.16.42.42 on your wired ethernet adapter.

Windows 7 for example will change the ip to a static class C ip when you enable ICS. This could be your problem.

Do you think its anything to do with the fact my WIFI address is a 192.168.1.* address range and the pineapple runs through 172.168.16.* address?

Should they maybe on the same range?

  6. Hi guys, im sure your all very sick of seeing this topic popup from us "newbies" but iv trawled through multiple posts and still haven't managed to get things up and running

here is how i have things setup:

CAT5 cable from laptop into pineapple's POE/LAN port

Set static IPV4 info as below

    IP: 172.16.42.42

    Sub: 255.255.255.0

    Gateway: Blanks

    DNS: 8.8.8.8

My laptop is connected to my home WIFI

My wireless card is set to share its connection with LAN card.

my wireless network is on the range of:

    192.168.1.1 - Router

    192.168.1.3 - Laptop

    255.255.255.0

    Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Iv tried turning the firewall off in /etc/init.d/firewall but i think its been removed in version 1.1.1 so thats no good.

    also tried : echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

Still no luck. I connect to the pineapple's ssid pick up a 172.16.42.* address but when browsing no luck.

Hope this is everything it would be good to get a solution sorted in one thread rather than a couple :o)

  7. Richy,

I would take one that has 12V output the "mAh " tells you the battery pack will last longer the bigger the number is.

I am saying to use the 12V as if you at one point want to use a 3G dongel they have an issue running on only 5V as the USB port usually have.

You can read some posts here in the forum were people had issues with only 5V with 3G dongles connected to the pineapple and the pinapple running on only 5V battery packs.

I did but i dont have firewall in my /etc/init.d/ folder im on version 1.1.1 and dont see firewall in there
