It needs to be redesigned or rewritten to be able to work with Macs.
This wouldn't be a bad idea, a lot of enterprise stuff is Mac.

You should come check out my home state of California. All of southern California is pretty fun. If you have the money, check out Las Vegas for sure!

If anyone has spare IDE hard drives I would be interested in purchasing them for the right price. I would like them to be at least 60GB in size.

Two throw my two cents in on the questions....
1. CCleaner, defraggler and malwarebytes anti-malware
2. Team viewer and tightVNC

Maybe I am getting a bit paranoid!
Infiltrator, I think you may be getting a little too paranoid. It seemed like everyone was replying to the OP and offering suggestions.

I hate to break this to you, but a lot of old systems have been jury rigged to connect to networks/the internet over the last 15 years or so. Often this work was done by the lowest bidder, and with scant disregard for anything we would recognize as security. And even more often these systems are not documented, and may have even been forgotten about. Things like modem lines for remotely dialling into the network, they often have no security on them at all. So yes, people being able to hack into power stations or similar is a very big problem.
As for why people would want to do it, its called cyber-warfare, and currently China is the worlds #1. The USAF has the 67th Network Warfare Wing (24th AFSPC) . Most other developed and developing nations have this ability. Imagine being able to cause the same level of disruption as a $87million bomber with a netbook? Imagine if Saddam had just been able to reach into the US and switch the east cost off? Or flood the drinking water supply of NYC with raw sewage? The homeland security guy is worth listening to.
VaKo, your reply just made me THAT MUCH MORE PARANOID! :(

Just an FYI, this idea is go, I will setup a suitable area in the next day or so.
Awesome!
There are a few things I would like to sell and also a few things I would like to buy!

I think the idea of a trading post is a great idea. I also like the photo idea to prove you have what you are selling.
If you take pictures of your item for sale, write on a piece of paper your username and the date of the shot, and include it in the picture. -
also look into team viewer i use it and i love it. its web based or you can run some programs for it. its all free for personal use. enjoy.
+1 for team viewer! I use it and love it as well. I have the host file run on my work PC so that I can access it from home if I need to.

i have a script on my router that blocks port scanners after 10 times :-D
What type of router are you running? Or, more specifically what type of firmware?
-
Thanks so much guys! I will double check everything when I get home.
-
So would flashing my router with tomatoes and running IP tables be overkill (paranoia)?
-
I have noticed a lot of port scans originating from China. My firewall and such have stopped them, however the sheer amount of attempts concerns me. Should I even be concerned with this? I read on how to block China's IP range, however I do not run any form of server (Apache, IIS or anything of the like). I did read that if you run a linux router you can use IP tables to block IP ranges. Has anyone tried blocking different ranges via a linux router?

how long does the battery last for? And how long can it record for
I can't speak for the muvi since i bought the cheap knock off. However, the battery on mine lasts approx 3 hours. It can hold up to an 8GB mircoSD. From the random math I did, I get roughly 4 minutes to every 250MB of space. Soooo 128 minutes total...ish.
For under $20 after shipping I am more than satisfied!

There is the expensive version he actually used in his helmet. I used the cheap one from Hong Kong and was happy.

I saw a video a while back, when one of those car alarm systems (that can track where the car is at) demonstrated the remote shutdown during a police chaise... They basically shut down everything except for breaks and steering wheel.
OnStar can do that now if it is activated on the car.

Ditto on this piece of software. I have used it before with success.
