  1. Wow, I just Stumbled here and realized that I knew what it was. I stopped watching when I started uni nearly 2 years ago. Just wondering how everyone is doing? I think I have a load of catching up to do on the episodes

So yeah, no real point to this post, does anyone remember me? (not hopeful)

    Im home again

Edit: Oh god that picture is -OLD-

  2. Ohh you should get a little USB lid or something just to protect the USB end. I know some people get those broken frmo time to time because of no protective lid and such. Just something I would do anyway.

Yeah nice idea, will try that.

You should of removed the LED completly, that way there is no lil light flashing while the thing is doing what it does Rolling Eyes

I took off the original and put on the red one from the memery card board I took out, it just stays lit when it is plugged in and lights up the red board in the bottom.

  3. Heh, cool! Anything to get rid of the Dell logo.

I should totally do something similar. Work gave me a 128 meg stick for my birthday a year or 2. It's the GAYEST memory stick you've ever seen. HOT PINK casing. The company had the word 'Pink' in the name, which is why they thought (mistakenly) that this would be a good idea...

Thanks, Nothing wrong with pink! lol.

  4. Ok, happy with my switchblade software, but my caseing was crap, so I had a go at modding it.

Should have really taken some photos during the process but hey. Was pretty easy, prised open the original took out the inner workings, and put them in the new case after soldering on a new LED (red 'cus I didnt like the original green). The "painting" is actually a permenant marker that I just scribbled with, then I used a black "gel" pen and went round the recesses to add a shadow effect.

And here is all the bits opened up.

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that the case is an old playstation memory card that stopped working.

  5. Mercury Rising, Billion Dollar Brain, Hot Millions, Net Force, Simone, Virtuosity, Enigma, Colossus: The Forbidden Project, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, Explorers, Short Circuit 1,2,3, The Thirteenth Floor, Electric Dream, Logan's Run.

A small collection I can remember off the top of my head, there are loads more I would class as 'geek' movies though.

  6. From here

    2) Dude, where’s my hash?

Now that you’ve got Ophcrack and rainbow tables installed, you’ll need hashes. There are three places to find them on Windows XP:

    * In the folder C:windowssystem32config. This folder is locked to all accounts (including an Administrator account) while running, except the special System account.

    * In a SAM file from C:windowsrepair if rdisk has ever run

    * In the registry, under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESAM, which is locked to all accounts

This doesn’t look good for retreiving the windows hashes! Well, to work around the built-in windows protections, we can recover hashes by the following techniques:

    * Boot to linux and copy the file directly from C:windowssystem32config. This is probably too troublesome for most users, but with a liveCD it’s trivial.

    * Run pwdump2, including in Ophcrack, to trick out the registry values. If you didn’t change any settings, it should be installed in C:Program Filesophcrackwin32_tools. Here’s an example session from the command line (start, run, type “cmd†and hit enter):

    C:Documents and SettingsElliott Back>cd “C:Program Filesophcrackwin32_toolsâ€

    C:Program Filesophcrackwin32_tools>pwdump2

    Administrator:499:aabbcc:3311dd:::

    Elliott Back:234:aabbcc:3311dd:::

    C:Program Filesophcrackwin32_tools>

Naturally, I’ve censored the hashes and the number of users. If you’d like some hashes to play with, here are hashes for users with passwords varying from length from 1 to 7 characters long: test-hashes.txt.

It is the second on a google search for "how to get windows hashes".

  7. Is it not just a memory expensive way to change workspace. I used a version on Gnome for a while but only found it useful for showing off something that windows cant do (I dont think anyway).

you're probably right, although i havent noticed any slowdowns, it took alot of workarounds to get my opengl games to run.

although now i've got them working, they don't run any slower.

Your computer is probably better than my then, I couldn't even get my music to play.

  9. The sort of thing google does as you search for something you've searched before, would be good if this was possible in just javascript & html.

The closest thing I can find (as I m not a very competent in javascript, so googled) is this. But it only allows one of the options to be edited and doesn't recognize if an input is the same as one on the list. Which if updating a database is important for linking tables etc.

I think my big book of javascript is going to have to have the cobwebs brushed away tonight.

  10. Ok, I hope nobody noticed but the forums went down for about 5 minutes just now. Sorry, that was me. My bad.

My whole search went down, had to restart from about 1500 back to 1250, grrr!

But have finished whole list now. Same link but with ammendments to the file.

    Edit:

You will probably want to zap the new Dr. Sunny Thomson as that has just come up aswell.
