I had the unfortunate displeasure of working in PC world whilst being a student. Most of the people who use computers on a daily basis are morons, okay that's not nice and not truel but still. I would get questions like "Can my epson printer used recycled paper?" Yet, they would still know Intel, they would be put off by brands like Asus. Intel has good marketing, notebooks which sell far more than desktops reflect this. Acer are one of the brands that sell similar laptops with both AMD and Intel. Even when the AMD is cheaper people would choose Intel. I'd be more interested in people buying the CPU itself, and at what price point. I.E. @ $155 who sells more, AMD or intel etc etc. Depending on what budget you gave me, my answer would be different.
Haha, yup...marketed mindless consumers who always put a foot in their mouth. I also LOVE the ones that choose a laptop because its sony. Hmm you just paid thrice the price to go online and print papers etc.
I remember somebody at a party talking about how his iphone sucks because its boring and hes going to return it. I figured wow, what an idiot. Jailbreaking brings out so much more from it. The best thing about it is basically being a huge touchscreen, which is what everything is turning into. We're ridding of physical buttons (break, wear out, more parts etc) and replacing it with a touchscreen that can be all sorts of buttons, different themes or even basically whatever you want the pixels to look like.
For me its Price, Function (function potential such as jailbreaking etc) Warranty. I see something and wonder about what its made of, materials..manufacturing complexity, price depreciation, what it can do etc before I trade any earned monetary slips for it. Call me tight but hey, I like getting the most out of my money :)
BTW, ATI>Nvidia??? I think its the other way around. The ION is going to set a level. Its inexpensive, and powerful and small.

I have 'nerdy' ringtones on my cell... The Final Fantasy Battle finale music, Zelda tunes, Pure Pwnage, and hak5 to name a few.
Final Fantasy ringtone FTW!
Hmm, I usually wear plain clothing. I'm into computers as much as I am in to cars, huge reason why I was single for eons, I never had time to go out haha. The only shirt I have though is an EVE-Online shirt, thats basically it. I try to be subtle and not stand out. As for now I purchase inexpensive clothes and put money in stocks while they're in the crapper :D
Oh another reason why I refrain from it is about 1 of every 5 here in southern california have labled clothes... Famous s & s, skin, ecko...its everywhere! I'm so over it haha

For some reason in me, I'd like to see it get big. It would help increase the demand for IT careers??
*turn on the tele to watch the news* Oh wow! Computer Virus! It's not the same old boring news about hilton tapes and what not.

What about the new SSDs? A 128GB ssd (pricey at the moment) set for your OS and apps should help right? I was thinking of doing that. Use an ssd for the os and apps and a 1.5tb for storage of "backup" media ;)

Napera ftw. Can't you bypass the site filtering using a virtual desktop such as g.ho.st ? Censornet and Sonicwall didn't automatically block ghost. We've had employees accessing the site a few months before we figured what it was. Im not exactly sure but I think it caches the site on ghosts servers, you just get a screen...its like a long distance thin client. I tried it using the trial but the internet access still went on through my pc. Hopefully the full version has their servers doing all the work and you just get a screen.
It would be interesting if virtual desktops get popular. Less hardware needed, just more bandwidth. Unfortunately who knows who has access to your files if you save them on their side.
I have a hunch many celebrities that use these are so prone to having their files looked through.

I had my boss take a pix. I always ask permission though from them for anything haha. Once a new dell comes in, I'll upack it right away, fill out the papers of what we recieved, send it to billing etc. Ill notify my boss about it, we'll install the nos and let it burn in on a small rack till we implement it after a few weeks.
I try to get all the easy work out of the way. My boss has to deal with the finances, meetings etc. But yes, I always ask for permission for anything. I swear, nothing breaks till theres change as in somebody touches it haha.

:D
The sound inside a server room is so soothing. Reminds me so much when I sit on the seat closest to the wing on a flight, the turbine engine has a nice tone.
