  1. Whew, nice to be back. I've been a member here long ago, but never really participated for along time. So I think now is the time to be active here. Since it has been a long time, I think I'd introduce myself again.

    Name: MABUS

OS: Mandriva 2008 , Windows XP (Which basically has nothing in it but games ehhehe, 'cause I don't use it for something else).

    Location: Philippines

Occupation: I am currently working as a web developer , home based, and Linux is my chosen flatform.

Favorite Editor: VIM, and PDT Eclipse

Games: Prince of persia, Fight Night round 3 , Warcraft (DOTA), Battlefield 2.

  2. cool ..nice to hear you guys liked the idea... but I'd lke to ask something.. what do you mean by mad props? I'm not so familiar with that term, I'm not from the US?

  3. hhmm.. I was thinking of something fun to do in the forum, so I thought of this game.

If the coding section will be up, this will be good for that.

The game is something like shortest path ( or whatever you guys would want to call it), but the idea is , the admins give a problem, like making a function to sort 5000 numbers. Then the participants will write a code to get that using language of their choice, or you can give a language to use. Then, whoever has the shortest code wins. The winner will then be congratulated on an episode or whatever you guys might think of.. maybe gain points or something like that.

This will be competitive to the fans, specially those who can code.

PS. hhmm you might want to take out ruby on the languages.

  4. hahahah.. just trying to help here.. as I am a new fan of hak5.

an open source advocate who likes to share knowledge to everyone interested... hehehe

  5. hhmm.. Cedege and Wine have been mentioned, both work well, but still doens't support that much games yet. I do believe that it will in the future.

Well, there's also one option, but you will need great deal of memory here. You can use VMware. It may cost you somehting, but there are always some other ways to get a particular software.

It's an emulator, and there's a version for winblows and linux. It works as if you have it on another PC.Another great thing about it is it has a simulated LAN, whcih is also very useful when you want to try out some network apps.

  6. Hey guys.. I'm new to Hak5, and honestly speaking I just saw epi 10 this morning. It was the first episode that I watched, and I liked it.

Anyway.. I'd like to suggest to put a "Questions" section on this forum, in that way, people who frequently logs in to this forum can post whatever questions they have. In thi sway also, the guys hosting hak5 will have a wider range of choice of which question / problem should be featured on the show.
