  1. Ok guys I have no idea if this can even be done but I'm sure I will get an answer here.

I want to have two fons, one that has Jasager on it and that's it. The other i would like to be able to wirelessly connect it to a "real" wireless network to grab and pass Internet to the Jasager fon through the LAN connection just like and ICS setup but with no computer in the middle. Also i would like to broadcast another SSID that would forward all traffic from the LAN port to the wireless SSID of my chose so I may grab these packets from there.

If you have any clue how i might do this please let me know. All my research has lead nowhere that i like.

    Thanks

  2. Great show guys, like always.

    Matt,

First, I wanna tip my hat to you man for having these segments on virtualization and that people are really starting to see the benefits of virtualization. I'm really here to ask why you think managing VLANs is hard unless you don't have a central management point to control? We use Alcatel-Lucent for a lot of our clients and they only have CLI to manage them unless you spend big bucks for the software. Another good point of VLANs is sercurity, this add another layer of control to your network which can help direct traffic where you want it. I can go on and on about how VLANs work and what they do. I believe them to add more control to a network than a flat network does

    Thanks

  3. Matt,

I know you said in this episode that the setup you have for your company works for what you need, but you also said if that box goes down your fired. Would there ever be a point for your company to add a second box for backup, vmotion, HA, DRS and the rest of the VMware goodness.

  4. I would have to say the Lenovo Ideapad S10 is my favorite netbook, its very slim has some room to grow.

I upgraded mine with a 320GB 7200 RPM HDD, 2 GB RAM, Atheros A,B,G,N and also bluetooth.

I have Vista, XP, OS X, Ubuntu, BT3 and BT4 installed on it.

  5. You have no college degrees, no computer certifications? and you have worked for the government? What kind of connections do you have?

I dont have any connections, more like just right place right time.

  6. Yes, I have an IT job. I work for an IT consulting firm, and basically what I do is design, build and maintain client's networks. We roughly have about 300 clients around the US. Unfortunately I have no college degrees, no computer certification and I'm 21. I have been working in the IT field since I was 16, I have worked for other consulting firm and the Government too.
