What OS are you running right now? I know with a Mac you can use a tool like iPhone Explorer to look at everything under the /media partition (Where all your Music, Photos, Videos, Movies etc.. are)

Of course you can copy and paste thing in/out of there as well. There is also a preview feature to be able to see the photo/video before you copy it.

I checked to see what the boot message it stops on is, and it stop after saying

Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.

And then it just freezes, no cdrom or hard drive activity, and this is with all Linux distros that I have tried.

I know this isn't the preferable place to put this, it would be better in the ASUS forums, but I have a higher rank here and I would be a n00bie there. Here is my prob: I have a 2-3 year old ASUS EEEPC 701 4Gb and it has been working fine for all of that time. I went on a 4 day trip without it, with it plugged into a surge protector, and I come back from the trip, turn it on, POST test is fine, and then goes to a blank screen with a blinking cursor & no drive activity. I had UNR (Ubuntu Netbook Remix) on it (GRUB2, ext4 format, Ubuntu 10.04). I have tried many things to get it to go further (Restore BIOS to original settings, plug it into an external monitor, re-install UNR, and try installing other Linux distros.) When I boot a distro such as Ubuntu 10.04 Alternate Install, it will goto the purple screen where I choose what to do, I choose an option such as install, the external CDROM drive spins up for a few seconds, then stops and I get the blank screen with cursor again. The same thing happens with a SDcard or USB stick. When I do a verbose boot, I seem to recall that the message it stops on is when it loads the initrd but I could be wrong. Then I go and try Windows XP *shudder*. It will ask to press a key to continue, then format the drive, then it will copy the required files over, then on reboot, POST will of course go by, then I get the blinking cursor again. I checked the RAM to make sure it was still seated, its all good, and the SSD is still plugged in. Any remedies or comments are greatly appreciated.

[MD5 & SHA1 Rainbow Tables]

Ok, so I'm showing the difference between SHA1 and MD5 hashes for a science fair project for school. One of the things I am doing is cracking NTLM, SHA1, and MD5 hashes. I am hoping to use RainbowCrack as my attacker, but the only problem is, is that I have no rainbow tables to start. I was going to use the ones at Freerainbowtables.com, but both of their mirrors don't have the files any more. I would like FREE (as I can't spend very much) rainbow tables for NTLM, SHA1, and MD5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When tethering the jailbroken iPhone, you first have to have service on your iPhone. Then you have to have openssh on the phone. Before anything else, create an adhoc wifi network with your laptop and connect your jaillbroken iPhone to it. You then create a tunnel using "ssh root@iPhone.local -D 8080" and connect. Then do anything else that you do to connect to that local tunnel.

1) I can't access my PHProxy from my school it blocks it saying, "Category: Proxy Avoidance" but they still allow my main site

2) Im on shared hosting on Godaddy and I don't thing I can access the ssh config file. So yeah

For iPhone Tethering, I put in the iPhone's WiFi ip address instead of the iphone.local

I'm assuming the *user is not root* is an error message displayed? Could you try again adding the -v option, the verbose output can give some more detailed hints.

Also, quick trick with SSH you can actually add proxies and port forwards on the fly, it's fairly easy to do in putty but the OpenSSH client also has a trick. Make sure you have a new line in your shell or hit enter a few times just to make sure, then hit shift+tilde and while still holding shift let go of tilde then hit c, you should get a new prompt that looks like this

Then I put in the proxy info to Firefox for Mac,

it says the proxy server isn't configured right,

and this is what is says in terminal:

[MD5 & SHA1 Cracker]

I'm going to do a science fair experiment for my school and my topic is: With Hashing, How Safe is Your Password Really?

I'm planning on using the two most common hashes SHA1 & MD5, and I was wondering if there are any other hashes commonly used to secure things like passwords? There is one other thing, the plan is to crack the hashes using rainbow tables and brute force, so I was wondering if there were any good MD5 & SHA1 Crackers. I know Darren talked about BarsWF on episode 419, but I was wondering if there was something like that, that does SHA and MD. I have access to a MacBook Early 2008, and a Athlon x64 with and NVidia Graphics card. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Through much research I have found, that even though it was compiled for the eeepc 701, it doesn't load on to it. Android basically doesn't like the graphics and on most computers wont get passed the splash screen. <_< so I guess I won't have a multipass with android.

No, that didn't seem to help.

When android is booting, it gets to a certain point in the boot process (I can see what it is doing as it is all text) at which it just stops. I wait a few minutes then press enter and it brings up the shell. Is there something I need to add to the android entry in the menu.lst?

UPDATE: What seems to be happening is that it is loading all of the drivers, but not loading the windowing system, if that helps.

Hey, could someone help me with this problem?

I got the android live iso from http://code.google.com/p/live-android/ and when burned it to a disk and booted off of that it worked fine but when I put it into my Multipass SD card with the following entry in the .lst:

It will only bring up a shell and no gui. Is there anything that I need to change in the menu.lst to get it to bring up the gui? Im running an ASUS EEEPC 701 (which live Android is built for) if that helps
