  1. I just went out to look for a mini USB hub with 6 in place of 4 outputs, and found one (No brand) locally (computer (car boot sale))

replaced my 2 mini 4ports USB hubs in my EeePc for this 6 ports mini USB hub, and this 6 ports mini hub now powers/connects the TouchScreen, Bluetooth, GPS, 2xinternally mounted `16GB Sd cards en now i stil have one usb port free on this 6ports mini USB hub.

Befour i just 2x 4 ports mini usb hubs and got 3 usb ports left over and no more space to build anything more inside my EeePc 701.

And beware 2x 4ports usb hubs mounted in side your EeePc will get you more battery power consumption than 1x 6 ports usb hub will do.

    Gerard

ya im just going to go with the 2 4 hubs .. but yes when i do get my wires i might be contacting you for some help ^^

  2. My EeePc 701 4G special (because of all the mods i have put in and on it) runs under Ubuntu-ee and allso got a (no solderless) tochscreen (both online) works nice to, only i made use of this driver

And afther downloading, getting it unrapt(tar.gz), cd to the location, and with the command "sudo sh setup.sh" it installed all that is needed to get the touch screen work in Ubuntu, Ubuntu-eee, Xandros, etc, etc.

nice ya i ordered a few things so i can start doing some more mods to my eee i want to put a few hubs in there for bluetooth and more space.. maybe even a gps

  3. Oke thx you, looks good ^^

I'm not using Xandros but XP Pro, but I think that there are version that support XP... ;)

no it works on xp as well ^^

that guide there is how to get it working on the linux

  4. How much did you payed for that touchscreen??

I'm planning to buy a solderless touch screen kit... if it's not to expensive :P

i did a quick ebay search i saw from 50-90 dollars you need to do some research on your model and what kit to buy ..

oh and my eee is no longer lonely ^^

    woot woot

  5. how did you install the touch screen? Can it be done on an Acer Aspire One?

im not to sure about acers you would need to do some research on it.. but i know all the eee PCs can have touch screens installed

my screen is kidshop touch screen

  6. alright so after getting my EEE PC i really wanted to have my BT3 on the SD card to boot to when i wanted ... i got it to boot normaly but now i really want to set it up where i can have changes and save stuff...

few things i ran into when trying this where

one guide said i needed 2 partitions 1 FAT16 and 1 ext2 and you needed to put the boot and BT3 folders from the iso onto the FAT16 partition and the ext2 would be where the changes would take place ... then you just have to edit the syslinux or something to just redirect the changes or w/e but .... you needed to run the bootinst.sh in the FAT16 partition when i did this it would tell me that permission denied idk why .. so if anyone can explane to me what i might have done wrong please let me know ..

    -Thanks

  7. If the SSD wasen't big enough, I am sure you can invest in an SDHC card (4GB) and install on that.

as ive said from the start you can boot to a flash or sd card and if you went to that site i posted they can tell you how to add flash and sdhc cards internally

im going to start my project with modding my eeepc tomorrow ill post pics when i have it all done

    bluetooth

    flash and sdhc

    touch screen

    GPS

and what ever else i can cram in there

  8. Yes that's what it does!

You'll need to configure it to your liking though..

Eg. Have HTTP/S traffic having a priority over P2P traffic.

yes i know it limits my connection but when i set it up for my all my bandwidth go to 1 port or 1 ip it seems slower if the QoS where off

  9. Don't expect a response in a day.

Doesn't the third party firmware your currently using support QoS by default?

yes its there but when i enable it it doesnt seem to change much or anything at all if any thing i belive its slowing my connection speeds =/

  10. Hey everyone i finally got around to registering on the site but ive been actively looking on the site for quite a long time any way

i have a Linksys wrt54g TM router with dd wrt on it i have made it into a dual wan router with the help from the dd-wrt.com community. now i would like to add QoS to the router mostly to optimize my connection to xbox live =D

    I have 2 Modems

    Each have around 20-25 down

    and 1.5 up

if anyone has any info on QoS it would help me out greatly
