I looked through a fair bit of the forums and couldn't find this question answered anywhere. I recently have gotten through the first 3 seasons of the show. I found it while researching vidcasts online. I love the show the whole thing is awesome. I like the mix of technical and non-technical coverage of so many issues.
My main questions though is what types of cameras are used to film this show, and what type of sound recording equipment is used?
I have been looking around and found that Diggnation uses a DVX-100A, which is a $2,500 camera. Of which I will need two and $5,000 is a little much to drop in a starting hobby. Hak5, despite the constant criticism looks good so I figured that I would jump on here and find out if you were using the basic store bought HD cameras or regular camcorders. Same thing with the sound, everything sounds really good and you don't run into quality problems from what I have heard. If someone could help me out that would be great. Thanks to begin with.
