I wasnt blaming the internet at all sparda - i was mearly stating the fact that security is pretty much non existent in the tubes

Yet, no one seems to be doing anything about it - just complaining.

hmmmm, I must not have explained my problem properly.
The sound has got to come out of the box in the cupboard as this will be hooked up to the sound system in the house.
So Winamp Remote wont do the trick as that will make the sound come out of,in this case, the laptop.
Ill make a crappy paint drawing in the morning but for now - i need to sleep.

Was recently asked to create a sytem that will allow a user to access and play media from another PC, all without using remote assistance.
The media sound has to come out of the NAS style device (Will be using an old system for this) that will be attached to the network.
The machine has all your general perks of a normal Pc - sound card, HDD, DVD-RW, etc. - but the machine will be hidden away so no interaction is possible.
Had a look around google and asked a few tech's that I know - but so far no dice.
Any help/input is much appreciated.

looks like a might be changing my order for a 1000 atm anyway because my supplier doesnt expect stock until october now - and i kinda need it for first year at uni which is pretty soon.
Also, kinda would have bought the aspire if it was in black - cus laptops in black just look sooooo much better - and the blue i think looks a bit, for want of a better word, crap after seeing it in the shop.
EDIT: typing with a broken S key really sucks....

Concept for improved registration process (Nah, no new thread):
User needs to answer five questions out of a pool of, let's say 50.
It should be possible to google the answers e.g. "what's the melting point of gold in kelvin" and there should be community related questions e.g. "what episode featured an underwater camera".
But, with the community question its a bit unfair to the hak5 newbies who may have only just got into the show - and to force them to watch EVERY episode for a silly wiki seems a bit harsh.
I personally think that creating a team and having a moderated registration process for the wiki is the best way forward.

I dabble a bit in cubase when im bored or inspiration strikes.
And as moonlit has said - sounds different on every system - so I always test my sounds on a few systems before i send them anywhere.
